Acting Thru Song is a class designed exclusively formiddle and high school students. Prior singingexperience is not necessary (though studentsWILL be singing solo songs). The idea is to exposestudents to the genre and give them opportunitiesto flex their performing muscle through solo workon song/s selected for (and with) each individualstudent. This will not be a competitiveenvironment, but rather an educational one. Allstudents will receive individual coaching andinstruction on preparing their selections, with theemphasis on learning how to interpret and portraythe meaning and/or objective of the song, i.e. howto 'act thru' it. This is a great opportunity, in a non-threatening and non-competitive environment, tolearn the skills needed for performing in a musical. At the final class, family and friends will be invitedto a "sharing" performance so students can showwhat they have learned. Session is 10 weeks.Instructor: Selah Theatre StaffLocation: Selah Theatre Project, 811 S. Loudoun St.
