PASTOR'S CORNER The season of Lent, preparing our hearts for Christ in
us and our community during Easter, is underway. God is
calling us to invite our community to Him through a special
emphasis called, "God Questions: Exploring Life's Great
Questions About God." I passionately believe God wants to bring revival.
Plus, He has a role for us in this movement. We must have
the Holy Spirit's blessing, a heart for those far from God,
committed leaders, a church full of inviters, and a pathway
that enables us to draw people into a personal relationship
with Christ which connects them to Christ through the
church. We've focused on the first two last fall. This Easter
season we want to engage the last two aspects, inviters and
drawing people. I pray this Easter emphasis, God Questions,
will open new doors for FFCPC. Pray for doors to OPEN
and God-prepared hearts to RESPOND to invitations
Colossians 4:2-6 TVB. Pray for our church to be naturally
inspired to invite our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and
families to come. We'll explore this Easter pathway in
Thursday evening Bible Study, plus our Sunday morning
worship. Make plans to attend through Lent and bring
someone with you. I eagerly look forward to God's moving
among us and our community this Easter. Christ in Every Heart, Pastor Greg Sunday's Sermon: God's Heart for The Human Heart,

helping FFCPC's members engage our community's
foundational questions about God. It is part of a wider
Outreach Campaign emphasis we'll be doing from Ash
Wednesday through Easter (Feb. 14-April 1). The Bible
Study poses tough questions about God and leads people to
discover the answers through the Bible. It develops a daily
devotional habit and encourages people to join the Bible
Study for thought-provoking discussion. Over the last ten
years, more than 2,000 churches have seen significant
growth using The God Questions campaign. Join us
starting Thursday, February 22 at 6 pm as we begin this
study. You can purchase the The God Questions Study
Guide by clicking on the blue text if desired, but it is not
required for the Bible Study.

Treasurer's Desk Five Things
1. Contributions through the first three weeks of February
have been below budget. If you are behind and are able,
please try to catch-up this coming Sunday.
2. Reminder: Our current Capital Campaign to pay on the
mortgage ends May 31, 2018. Our next Capital Campaign is
planned to begin June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2021. Pledge
statements are to be distributed soon. If you are behind on
your pledge and able, please try to catch up. So far, the
2015 - 2018 Capital Campaign has been very successful -
over $100,000 has been collected and used to help pay the
Church mortgage.
3. The Church financial records (including the 2018 budget)
are available to all active members. Contact Lori or Ken if
you have any questions or would like to review them.
4. We are still seeking contributions (above tithes, offerings,
and pledges) for the Rainy-Day fund. 2017 was a very good
year. At year end the fund had risen to $160,000. The 2018
goal is $175,000. The last Presbytery grant goes away
December 31, 2018. Beginning 2019, Faith Fellowship
must be financially self-sufficient. The Rainy-Day Fund will
help ensure the future of our Church by providing money for
unexpected expenses. If you are willing and able, please
help. Write Rainy-Day Fund on your check.
5. Ken Nester has assumed the duties of Treasurer and
Finance Committee Chairman. Thank you for your support
and cooperation over the past three years.

The Women of Prayer Tuesday Morning Bible Study began
a new study, "He Chose the Nails", February 20th. This is
a study intended for the period of Lent. Prepare yourself for
Easter.
The wood. The thorns. The nails. Christ's sacrifice has
defined the very essence of mankind's faith for the past 2000
years. And now, Max Lucado invites you to examine the
cross, contemplate its purpose and celebrate its significance
with He Chose the Nails.
If you are interested in participating in this Bible Study,
please contact Mary Nell Yarbro at (865) 679-9246 or Dana
Rose at (865) 679-0624.

Cherokee Health Systems At our last CPWM Meeting on January 21, we learned a lot
about Cherokee Health Systems and how they serve the
local and regional community. Last year, they had 500
pregnant women go through their OB-GYN offices. These
doctors and administrators are trying to see how they can
give these mothers a bit of help for their soon-to-be born
child. One of their projects is called "Baby Bundles". A
Baby Bundle would provide the basic needs for a newborn,
kind of the "baby shower in a basket". These women may
not have the support system that would help them by giving
them a baby shower. The CPWM has decided that this is
something we want to help with. With a very generous
donation from someone in the meeting, we are going to put
together 5 Baby Bundles to donate to Cherokee Health
Systems. Then, we want to invite the rest of the
congregation to participate. We will publish the contents of
a Baby Bundle and you can sign up to bring one or more of
the items. When we have all the contents, we will take that
Baby Bundle to Cherokee Health Systems.

Donate Your Eyeglasses!! Do you have a few pair of old eyeglasses just sitting in a
drawer, taking up space? Why don't you donate them at
church. We have a collection box in the Narthex. When the
box is full, we donate those to the Farragut Lions
Club. These glasses are taken to a recycle center and then
the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in low
and middle income communities where they will have the
greatest impact. If you have any questions, please contact

FISH.
Flowers for the Altar
Noah's Ark Encounter I am trying to find out if there is an interest in travelling to
Noah's Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky sometime
this Spring. Here is some basic information:
Ticket cost : Seniors - $45 to both the Ark and Creation
Museum
Adults - $60+ tax and Williamstown entertainment fee.
Lodging: Closest hotel is Hampton Inn. It would be
approximately $100 per night. It is remodelling until April
so suggest we go after that.
It is a little over a 4-hour drive.
Website: https://arkencounter.com/ and
https://creationmuseum.org/
Who would like to go? Would you also like to
drive? Suggestions welcome. More information when I
determine interest.
Please email Leslie Gallaher at [email protected].

If you would like to provide flowers for
the altar in memory or in honor of
someone, please contact the office at
