Pastor's Message
In Christ, another blessing granted is we're given
family status with the Church, Acts 2:47; 1 Cor. 12:27;
Eph. 1:22-23; 5:30. We become a meaningful part of a
sacred union, John 17:20-26.
Each believer is in relationship to Christ.
Therefore, we are in relationship to each other. Being in
the body of Jesus Christ, our truest part of our individual
selves is discovered and experienced in relationship to
the body of Christ. I am part of you and you are part of
me. Paul is saying that individual believers are "in
Christ" and part of the other individuals in the body too.
Here in lies the amazing truth concerning this sacred
union of the Godhead and the body. This is who each of
us are in Christ. I am a part of you and you are part of
me. Our individual identity as God has created us to be
cannot be known except in serving one another as each
member relies on Christ. Our constant participation in
the body of Christ helps us become who God created us
to be while enabling the Church to fulfill God's vision of
a mutually ministering body through various gifts and
identities.
Christ in Every Heart, Pastor Greg

Treasurer's Report God takes delight in the person who gives to him cheerfully out of a loving heart, a person who understands that God is the source of everything that they have and who knows that God will more than compensate for all that we sacrificed for him.
August is off to a much better start than July. Please keep up your tithes and pledges and we will have a great month.
God Bless
See You Sunday!

Back to School Trip to
Smoky Mountain
Elementary School
Thanks to all those who made the trip to Smoky
Mountain Elementary School on Friday! We had 28
folks to go. The kids and the teachers were very
thankful for the school supplies. We also took them two
boxes of materials and books that had been donated for
the garage sale. We recognized that the school may be
able to use these and we saved them.
MOVIE NIGHT
Saturday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. Please join us for a movie, popcorn, and snacks.
"I Can Only Imagine" is the movie we will be
watching. It's about the background story of the hit
Christian pop song recorded by MercyMe, which is the
biggest-selling Christian pop single of all time.
The story revolves around the band's lead singer Bart
Millard unhappy childhood, his abusive father, and his
love of Christian music.
Please invite your family and friends to join us for this
great, uplifting movie. A signup sheet is in the narthex
only so we know how many people will be there.

Kroger Community Rewards
The Kroger Community Rewards program is
helping us raise money for the Faith
Fellowship CPWM. It is an easy way to
support our church and the CPWM. Simply
enroll your Kroger Card in the program,
following the link below. https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards
One misconception is that if you sign up for
the Community Rewards Program, you won't
get your fuel points. This is NOT true! You
will be able to do both!
Gideons Card Ministry The Gideons International, founded in 1899 in
Wisconsin, is an association of Christian business and
professional men and their wives dedicated to telling
people about Jesus through sharing personally and by
providing Bibles and New Testaments. While they are
known worldwide for their work with hotels, they
predominately share Scriptures in schools and colleges,
prisons and jails, hospitals, and medical offices.
The Gideons have a card ministry that we would like to
share with our church. You may donate Bibles in
someone's name through this ministry. They have a
wide range of cards including sympathy, get well, thank
you, in memory, pastor appreciation, birthday,
recognition, and encouragement. We have placed a card
rack on the wall across from the large Sunday School
classroom at the west entrance to our church. To donate
Bibles to honor someone special, all you have to do is
choose a card, personalize the card by filling out the
blanks, add your message and send the card. To donate
Bibles, just complete the orange donation envelope
inside the card and mail it to The Gideons International
address on the front of the envelope.
Each $5 donation places a Bible in the hands of a person
who needs one anywhere around the world.
Flowers for the Altar
If you would like to provide flowers for the
altar in memory or in honor of someone,
please contact the office at (865) 988-8522 to
let us know.

Donate Your Eyeglasses!! Do you have a few pair of old eyeglasses just sitting in a
drawer, taking up space? Why don't you donate them at
church. We have a collection box in the Narthex. When
the box is full, we donate those to the Farragut Lions
Club. These glasses are taken to a recycle center and
then the recycled glasses are distributed to people in
need in low and middle income communities where they
will have the greatest impact. If you have any
questions, please contact Frances Poore at (865) 599-
0083 or [email protected].
