Faculty Positions at Hefei Center for Physical Science and Technology (HCPST) Hefei Center for Physical Science and Technology was founded in September 2011 as an experimental field of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) for the integration of frontier science and advanced education. It is a collaborative innovation platform co-established by CAS and Anhui Provincial Government delivering a full scope of functionality in terms of administration, industry, education, research, and business. The center is affiliated to the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Hefei Institute of Physical Science of CAS, with the USTC President Dr. Jianguo Hou serving as the Director. Based in Hefei City, the Center takes advantage of its well developed research clusters in physical sciences, compact large science facilities, plus abundant higher education and business resources. The Center strives to foster and attract leaders of science and engineering of the nation to carry out fundamental, interdisciplinary, frontier and applied research, and the related knowledge transfer and transformation, particularly in the fields of quantum science and information technology, new energy and the environment, and life & health. The Center’s objective is to become a world-class scientific hotspot, an incubator for strategic emerging industries, a public platform for generic technologies, and a burgeoning source of innovative talents.
