We promote the growth of academic leaders through professional development opportunities and institutional policies designed to strengthen our collective faculty who advance UCF’s mission of discovery, learning and engagement.

Our 2020 goals include doubling national and international recognition of faculty excellence, growing our tenured and tenure-track faculty to 1,200 and diversifying our faculty through inclusive excellence.

The Faculty Excellence Center for Success of Women Faculty promotes the success of all UCF women faculty through mentoring and events designed to help you maximize research and professional development opportunities, as well as awards and career-life balance resources. The Center encourages excellence in scholarship, research and creativity.

The Targeted Opportunity Program (TOP) focuses on inclusive excellence, as well as making UCF the institution of choice for academic partners and recruiting world-class scholars.

The Scroll & Quill Society honors faculty achievements in research and creative activities

that have brought national or international recognition to UCF and their work.

Through multiple award programs we recognize and incentivize faculty excellence that advances the university’s mission.

At whatever stage in your career, we provide programs and events that will support your development, success and impact.

These programs provide professional development and support for faculty in a supportive community of your peers. Work collectively toward goals through regularly scheduled, structured meetings.

If you’re looking for an option with a little more flexibility, we offer a number of sessions each semester on a variety of subjects – everything from leadership development to career life balance.

These programs, including the Chairs and Directors Excellence Program and Academic Leadership Academy, are designed to support faculty in leadership and other pathways to success.

We offer guidelines and resources designed to support faculty as you prepare for and navigate promotion pathways, including tutorials to assemble your dossier and manuals for candidatesand reviewers.

These college- and university-level awards recognize outstanding achievement in teaching, research and creative activity, service, advising and librarianship.

The Pegasus Professor Award is UCF’s highest academic honor, recognizing faculty with outstanding teaching, research and creative activity and service. The Reach for the Stars Award honors outstanding faculty early in their career, and university Trustee Chairs recognize foremost scholars in their fields.

Pegasus Professor and Trustee Chair Deborah Beidel helps first responders and veterans fight PTSD with an intensive new approach to exposure therapy in the UCF RESTORES clinic.

Endowed Chair in Healthcare Simulation Gregory Welch has built a virtual patient that exhibits real emotions to train future doctors and nurses.
