    Star Counts

The Star Counts reading program is a school wide reading incentive

program. Students are encouraged to read within their tested reading

section. Once theyve read a book, they may take a comprehension test

to see how well theyve understood the book. Teachers set up individual

goals for each child based on ability levels.

TheMedia Center is located at the front of the school campus. It is always busy and

bustling with activity. The Star Counts Reading program is a large reason for the

    activity.

There is a large column and 4 conference/office areas that block the Media Specialists

view of the stacks. The rearrangement of furniture, shelving, and the office areas will be

moved in the new plan in order for the Media Specialist to have a clear view of all areas

    of the center.

Due to the Media Specialists flexible schedule and meeting the needs of the students

and teachers from K-12 there is little time for teacher collaboration.
