Veselin Marković, Deputy Mayor of Budva Municipality, wished success to the four Budva-based international trade fair events held in 2017 that are well-integrated and will act as a great introduction to 2017 tourist season.“The Municipality of Budva recognised the importance of trade fair events in a city like Budva almost 50 years ago and trade fair events have been successfully held there ever since.

Moreover, against a backdrop of our modern times and circumstances, Budva Municipality has also identifi ed the opportunity

to found a new Budva-based company in co-operation with Adriatic Fair which we hope will additionally enhance the importance and boost the success of trade fair events in our city in the forthcoming future”.The Deputy Mayor Marković thanked all exhibitors who have recognised Budva as a city with great potential for the promotion of their products, wishing them good luck in their work.

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Serbia, Her Excellency Ivana Hlavsova, located in Belgrade, expressed her delight with the opportunity to participate at the Budva-based Adriatic Fair, as well as that the Czech Republic is yet again

participating at the Food Fair with its own exhibition stands. Co-operation can be constantly raised and improved and it is in our interest to further develop our economic and trade relations with Montenegro, also at the level of excellent friendly and political relations. The Czech Republic vigorously supports the European integration of Montenegro. There is extensive co-operation in this segment and hence also the economic co-operation”, noted the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Serbia.

“Hungarian agriculture and food industry sources said they were delighted to be participating in the 43rd Food Fair in Budva” stated the Hungarian Ambassador to Montenegro, Krizstian Poša, whilst expressing his greatest gratitude to the host –Budva-based Adriatic Fair for its committed work without which this trade fair would certainly not rank amongst the best organised trade fair events both in Montenegro and the wider region. “Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude to the Hungarian National Trading House, since, as a result of the support it has provided, this year’s visitors to

the Hungarian national stand will be given the opportunity to gain insight both into the products and services provided by 11 Hungarian companies involved in diff erent

segments of food industry. The excellent results achieved by the Hungarian agriculture throughout 2016 can provide

an additional incentive to the development of both our economic and trade relations with the countries of the Western Balkans. In addition to the professionalism and the committed work of all those involved in agriculture and fortunate natural conditions, modern technological solutions, as well as legal and administrative

framework have certainly exerted a signifi cant impact. We are delighted to say that the Hungarian agricultural sector currently ranks amongst the most developed agricultural sectors in the European Union”, pointed out the Hungarian Ambassador, stating that a large number of contacts have been established between Montenegrin and Hungarian companies

Furthermore, H.E. Mladen Červenjakov, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Montenegro, also expressed a wish to greet all participants. In a concise, but heartfelt address, he welcomed the opening of the four trade fair events and extended his best wishes and expressed hopes for successful contract signing.

    Velimir Mijušković

During the grand opening Olivera Brajović, Managing Director for Tourism Development and Standards at the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, stated that both the fi gures presented and the results achieved show the fact that our country is pursuing the right path. “Montenegro, as a tourist destination, has been arousing increasing interest and I believe that this positive trend will continue in the future. Last year we broke many records when our country was visited by over 1.8 million tourists and recorded over 11 million overnight stays, whilst tourism revenue for the previous year was €870 million. According to the announcements made thus far and the bookings

for this year, we are expecting superior results compared with 2016. We have ranked amongst top destinations based on projections provided by the WTTC for years and we are winning a large number of recognition awards. The fact that 4 trade fair events will be held simultaneously is a unique opportunity. 26TH TOURISM EXCHANGE AND TOURISM

FAIR, EQUIPMENT FOR HOTELS AND CATERING - METUBES, will bring together 56 exhibitors, 30 of whom are direct exhibitors originating from a

total of 7 countries this year. The 43rd FOOD FAIR is an event that gives both local and international companies an opportunity to establish cross-border co-operation and directly present both their

products and services to consumers in competitive conditions. This year the 43rd Food Fair will bring together 84 exhibitors, 63 of whom are direct exhibitors from 7 countries. The 22nd ECOLOGY FAIR, which is to be held simultaneously with the Food Fair, will provide a unique trade show platform intended primarily to preserve the living environment as a prerequisite and a resource for the production of healthy food. The 35th BOAT SHOW is intended to promote the increasingly important, growing segment of tourism industry – nautical tourism.

Velimir Mijušković, President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro (CEM), believes that, in addition to well-known Montenegrin and international exhibitors, as well as a large number of members of the general public, the Fair will also bring together the key players in politics and resource management - the representatives of government, chambers of economy and other business associations. “The opening of today’s events at the Adriatic Fair addresses highly signifi cant development aspects of Montenegrin economy that need not be considered separately, but rather as components of a complementary unit, intended to contribute to the identifi cation of Montenegro, in addition to its investment potential, also as a tourist destination. Food, considered as a segment of heritage and traditional values, is

increasingly assuming the role of one of the key factors in tourism programmes and it is also a highly important aspect of the national brand. Furthermore, it represents a specifi c interaction between abundant resources and lavish nature, as well as human creativity which increasingly makes it a powerful and distinctive feature of each specifi c country. Tourism is becoming a powerful generator of agricultural development through affi rmation the of the national cuisine and specifi c Montenegrin products. Top quality traditional Montenegrin products provide value-added

to tourism programmes, whilst connecting agriculture and tourism results in agri-tourism, primarily in the Northern part of Montenegro. Consequently, material and economic prerequisites are provided for a speedier economic development and an improvement in life quality. Ecology and the protection of the living environment are highly important topics for the overall development of Montenegrin destinations, primarily in the light of the forthcoming completion of successful integration processes. Raising the awareness of the Montenegrin population and maintaining cleanliness primarily in tourism venues are highly signifi cant and required “aesthetic patriotism”, or positive impressions made on tourists.”

E DITOR doc. Dr. Rajko Bujković

Our top managers are extremely busy and we are currently faced with a situation in which we would like to recommend them to spend two out of four days at the corporate exhibition stand. Should we recommend them to opt for the opening day of the trade fair? As a rule, the second and third days have the greatest business

potential (this applies to most trade fairs that last four or fi ve days). Hence, we recommend the top managers from your company to be at the corporate exhibition stand on those particular days.

Nevertheless, after the grand opening on the fi rst day, a large number of reputable individuals normally visit the exhibition halls and stop at some of the exhibition stands. How to prepare for this situation? You have made a good point. Firstly, I recommend exhibition stand

hosts to assume a standing position, rather than being comfortably seated during this occasion. One should defi nitely avoid crossing one’s arms. Secondly, since we are dealing with the opportunity for only a short visit to an exhibition stand, several concise and clear sentences need to be prepared which will primarily be intended to provide your reasons for participation at this specifi c trade fair, in that specifi c city and country (your product or the service you are providing is perfect for this market, you are striving to maintain

your network of contacts or you are looking for new distributors, to name but a few reasons). One needs to be highly accurate and concise, which certainly requires previous practice.

Our director had been planning to organise a cocktail party for the partners visiting our exhibition stand during the trade fair. What is the best day for that? The importance of the

second and third days has already been pointed out previously, as on those days the trade fair is visited by the largest number of business partners. The second feature concerns not only the specifi c day of the trade fair, but also the timeline of events and the offi cial accompanying programme, which is normally provided in advance. You need to keep abreast with the information concerning the timeline of events of business conferences or meetings held by the associations you fi nd important and strive to adjust your schedule accordingly, so you will be able to invite people you deem important for your business.
