EXPO 2017 ISSUE - PART 1 OCTOBER 2017
This Special Issue is so big that we had to be divide it into 2
parts. It is to pay homage to the various models exhibited at
our fifth Expo, we will show all maritime related models ex-
hibited by SMSC Members of which we have photographs on
record.
We hope that it is enjoyable reading.
VOTE OF THANKS This year we have again received support from various sponsors
whose combined generous assistance has ensured the success
of our EXPO. We wish to thank each of them for their assistance
and encouragement:
The Australian National Maritime Museum have assisted us
from the inception of the Club by providing us with facilities
to have our meetings when required, but more particularly
their continued assistance for another year in sponsoring our
EXPO is greatly appreciated. Some of our Members volun-
teer to demonstrate modelling on the “Ramp” in the Museum
and we hope to continue our close ties with the Museum into
the future.
We again welcome the good folks from Bergs Hobbies
of Parramatta as our sponsors. To Peter Berg and his
staff, we sincerely thank you for your support and we
hope that the relationship that has now been estab-
lished continues into the future
Ever since the time of the establishment of the
Club we have received valuable and steadfast
assistance from Gary Renshaw and Modellers
Central. We greatly appreciate such continued
support.
Last, but not least, we have to thank the Organising Committee who have worked tired-
lessly to put on the EXPO. Those who have not been involved in organising this event
will never appreciate the dedication, time and effort that is needed to put on such a
show, organising venue and exhibitors, liaising with other Clubs and making sure that
the members of the public become aware of the event.
Our thanks go to Anelia and Michael Bennett who laboured for long hours and have
dedicated and expended incredible hours to ensure the success of EXPO 2017, greatly
assisted by Harry Goedings who co-ordinated the committee and Alan Bideleux who
spent many hours in putting on “the show”.
