Example: Back

Dear Mother, My conquest of the lands of New Spain have been successful, Montezuma was killed this past year, and it appears that 1522 will be a good year. The little savages we encounter are now quiet afraid me and my fellow Conquistadors, and run when we enter their villages. It appears they believe we are gods, sent spread wrath upon them for their sinful religious ways. Those who do come to us beg for us to show them the true god and are contented to work in the gold and silver mines, as payment for their sins. It is clear god has chosen us for these lands of the evil savage ways, for he has stricken them down by the tens of thousands since our arrival. I think that I like these lands and I will be staying for a while, but I should be able to send much gold and silver so that you can live out your days in as much comfort as money can buy. Sincerely your son, Hernando Cortez
