The love hearts were primarily used to resemble the feelings that our male character feels towards the woman. If I’m honest I liked the idea of using the cut up love hearts with notes scrawled on them like confetti, I just didn’t see how it would fit into our music video. However when we filmed posting them through the letter box, I think that they enforced the characters feeling. Also we decided that when the love hearts fell through the letterbox to reverse a section of the clip so that they travelled back up towards the letterbox and then let them fall again. We did this because in a way we felt that maybe our character wanted to take back his action and ignore his feelings, but its something he felt he had to try and communicate with her.

Me and Kirsten decided that the cut between these two shots was very disorientated, therefore we decided to use a transition to make the transaction from her pulling on her cardigan to her miming to make the shot run smoothly. We both agreed to use this blurring transition because we felt it reflects the confused feelings that the two characters feel to each other. We slowed the transition down so that in a way it looses focus of the miming and makes you think what this could represent.

We decided that during the start of our music video we wanted to feature a hand held shot between the two characters, to show that they are aware of one another. When we filmed this particular shot and then watched it on the camera, we felt that the sunlight may be to strong and the character was completely lost, however once we uploaded this to the Mac computers, it was clearer. Because of this me and Kirsten decided to use the shot in our music video, we felt it gave the character an ‘innocent’ look to it, not like some rough neck who is always in fights. But some who our female character could see herself with. The screenshot to the right; is of a point of view shot from the female character, it shows me as i am walking past Kirsten and making eye contact. In this particular scene we slowed down the speed of the clip. We did this because we felt that the light that shone around my head when slowed down gave the appearance that this could be a 'love at first sight' notation, we felt it was like a romantic cliché.

When we first planned out our music video, we wanted to have sections of performance mixed with narrative, this screenshot shows our male character miming along to the lyrics, it looks to resemble how he feels. The reason we decided not to film my entire face, was so that it reflects his shy nature, he doesn’t come into direct contact with the girl until the end, we felt it suggested he became more comfortable with his feelings that he could express himself through himself without the notes and teddy bear.
