The training received will enable the gra-duates, with a vocation towards laboratory investigation, work in research institutes, hospitals, universities and biotechnology companies. The graduates with a more clini-cal vocation may choose optional subjects to guide their training towards the hospital en-vironment closer to the patients and to the clinical research.
The completion of this degree provides preferential access to following Master’s Degrees: Biomedical Research; Advanced Biology: Research and Application; Phisiology and Neuroscience; Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology; Teaching in Secondary Schools, Vocational Training and Language Centers (Biology and Geology); Tourism Management and Planning.
Scientific advances in the post-genomic era open huge opportunities to maintain, improve and rehabilitate the human health. This challenge requires a deep knowledge in multidisciplinary studies of the molecular bases of functioning of the body, to understand the transformations when the organism is ill and to be familiar with the diagnostic and therapeutic tools used to prevent and fight the diseases.
The aim is to train professionals with scientific and technical knowledge and to be familiar with the intrinsic vicissitudes of direct contact with patients, which enables the graduate to integrate and lead multidisciplinary teams committed to research, the development and innovation in science health, both basic and clinical, and with a vocation to transfer the scientific knowledge to solve problems in the health field.
