The Asia Public-Private-Partnership Promotion Conference (referred to as “APPC”) was established in January

2006, under the strong support of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (METI), for the purpose of

1970’. Hydrogen is expected as next generation technology due to its cleanness. Green Hydrogen Research

Center of YNU, established at 2011, is now investigating in technology for producing green hydrogen,

hydrogen utilizing system and other wide variety of hydrogen-related technology, getting support by the

Cabinet Office and NEDO.

Principal research subjects are; (1) Development of non-precious electrocatalyst as an alternative platinum

(supported by NEDO): Pt-system alloy is now widely used for electrocatalyst of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel

cell, but limit of Pt resources and high cost is impeding full-scale commercialization for Polymer Electrolyte

Fuel Cell. (2) Development of production technology for organic hydride directly by electrolyte (supported by

the Cabinet Office): Organic hydride is a promising candidate for energy carrier. (3) Hydrogen production

technology of water electrolysis method (4) Investigation on how much of renewable energy like solar-power,

wind-power we can expect for the energy used for producing hydrogen production (Supported by NEDO ).

We are also promoting enlightenment activity concerns about hydrogen-related technology.
