OVERVIEWEconomists have propounded the entrepreneur as an innovator,
inspirer, and an implementer of creative destruction; creating instability,
disequilibria, and economic development.
Less than one in 100 adults are engaged in entrepreneurial activity in 13
economies as measured by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in
2021 (GEM 2020/2021 Global Report). In India, only 5% of the country's
people go on to establish their own business, which is among the lowest
rates in the world (economictimes.indiatimes.com). The entrepreneur is
the one involved in activities such as creating and launching new
products or services, or establishing a new business entity. The
education system and the quality of education plays a critical role in the
economic advancement of nations since it is the primary developer of
human resource.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi – Department of Management
Studies’ (IITD-DMS’) Executive Management Programme in
Entrepreneurship Development (EMPED) has been designed to
encourage aspiring Indian entrepreneurs, work with them closely to
facilitate their business idea incubation and facilitate venture funding
for all those ideas that make the cut. With its world-class resources,
IITD-DMS is committed to espouse the true entrepreneurial spirit by
perpetuating the broader and underlying economic benefits – both at
the individual level and also at the societal level – through EMPED.
EMPED is not just a programme but a platform to foster entrepreneurial
culture and to nurture entrepreneurial talent by being true contributors
in progress. The platform is ours. Spirit is yours. Dream is yours. Delivery
is ours.
IITD-DMS’ EMPED is tailored to fulfil the entrepreneurial aspirations. It
is an 8-month intensive programme with online classes and mentoring
and monitoring to convert potential business ideas into early-stage
ventures. The programme is built around the ethos of creating a thriving
ecosystem to test, execute, seek and transform business ideas into
successful business ventures. With faculty masterclass sessions,
founders’ insights, industry experts, live mentoring, peer support and
pitching sessions, this is the right platform to convert your business
ideas into thriving business ventures.Programme oered by Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi

ABOUT IIT DELHI
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is one of the 5 initial
IITs established for training, research and development in science,
engineering and technology in India. Established as College of
Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of
National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment)
Act, 1963” and was renamed as “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”. It
was then accorded the status of a Deemed University with powers to
decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to
award its own degrees. In 2018, IIT Delhi was also given the status of
Institution of Eminence (IoE) by the Human Resource Development
(HRD) Ministry, Government of India.
Since its inception, over 48,000 students have graduated from IIT Delhi
in various disciplines including Engineering, Physical Sciences,
Management and Humanities & Social Sciences. Of these, nearly 5,070
received PhD degrees. The rest obtained a Master’s Degree in
Engineering, Sciences and Business Administration. These alumni today
work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs.
There are several alumni who have moved away from their original
disciplines and have taken to administrative services, active politics or
are with NGOs. In doing so, they have contributed significantly to the
building of this nation, and to industrialisation around the world. For
