Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

“Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ fromStedfast Kuala Lumpur! May the year of the goldenrabbit bless you and family with good health, happinessand great prosperity.”

2010 was indeed a busy and meaningful year for us especially with the success of our15th Anniversary Celebration, Annual Golf Tournament as well as supporting the KualaLumpur State Boys’ Brigade (both finance and human resources) in topping their FullTime Officer Funds to RM10,000.00 plus their BB Pesta in Penang, Awards Camp inKuala Kubu Bharu and Christmas Concert in Stadium Titiwangsa. We have alsocontinued to support the Hyams Family, Grace Dialysis Centre, Methodist Boys’School KL, Wesley Methodist Church KL and our own Stedfast Scholarship programmewhich had since made in-roads with separate Agreements signed with MethodistCollege Kuala Lumpur and Nilai University College.

This year 2011, we will be “FLYING”!! We Stedfast KL initiated and hosted the 1st

Stedfast Regional Games back in 2007 and this bi-annual fellowship Games waspassed on to Singapore in 2009. The coming 3rd Stedfast Regional Games will beorganized by Kuching Stedfast from 20th – 24th July, 2011. So, come and join us. I amsure it will be a fantastic time of fellowshipping through healthy competitionsbetween Stedfast Associations in this region namely, Singapore, Penang, Kuching,Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and maybe Ipoh.

Our only source of fund raising event is still our Annual Stedfast Golf Tournament.And we are indeed thankful that after so many years our “Founder for Stedfast Golf”,Mr. Danny Cheah is still as enthusiastic as ever with his contribution to the success ofthe tournament, both golfers and sponsors. We also want to thank Singapore Stedfastfor their participation over the last few years and our core group of volunteers forputting in so much efforts to make the tournament a resounding success year afteryear.

To all our Stedfast Kuala Lumpur members, please read through this newsletter anddo find the time to participate in all the 2011 Programmes that have been planned.

Last but not least, we just want to thank our Almighty God for His presence andblessings for Stedfast Association Kuala Lumpur. As we move into 2011, we want torecommit our Association and our 2011 Programmes into God’s hands for “God willmake a Way where there seems to be NO way”. We in the committee can only do somuch and we seek your constant prayers to reach out to others and completing thevarious tasks. Message from the newly elected Selangor State BB Commissioner

Greetings to you all in the name of peace and goodwill through our Lord & Savior , Jesus Christ.

It is indeed an honor and privilege to be nominated as the Selangor State Commissioner for thenext two year period. During this time, I will continue the good work laid down by the previousCommissioners and looking forward to the good working relationship with and within the variousBB partners.

My sincere gratitude to all Honorable Captains , Captains and Advisors of the Boys’ Brigade inMalaysia (Selangor Councils) for your trust in me and to all Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia ExecutiveCommittee for your encouraging words and support shown .

May we continue to work together for the betterment of this vibrant BB Ministry by reaching out our love and care to allchildren in the community.

As it is written in 2 Timothy 4 : 5 “ Keep your head in all situation, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist anddischarge all the duties of your ministry.” Do your best, God will do the rest.

Dear Members of Kuala Lumpur Stedfast and Friends,

We bring you good wishes and greetings from the Kuala Lumpur State Council and its members.So fast, the time has passed and it is already two years since Hon. Capt. Cheong Sing Yuen hadheld the baton and all the responsibilities that comes with this appointment as Kuala LumpurState Commissioner. In the changing of the guard, it makes me feel a deep sense of responsibilityand commitment to carry on the good things where he left off. It is no easy task but I willpersevere with God’s Strength, Guidance and His Wisdom.

These last two years have seen the close working relationship between both our entities in a warm, brotherly manner witheach supportive of one another's strengths and weaknesses.. But the most important burden to each one is that at the endof the day, the boys, parents and needy families benefit from all our hard efforts. And the members are bound togetherlikewise by noble virtues and pure, good intentions springing from deep within our hearts. As it is written in Matthew 9 : 37-38 when Jesus said to his disciples .. . “ The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray that the Lordof the harvest will send out laborers into His Harvest. “

We cannot fail when we feel for each others burdens and we will support each other in various projects with the rightobjectives and manpower. I realize that even though our members come from different age groups, we can share common,similar synergies to achieve much in the coming months. The young and the not so young ( but with abundant energiesand focused ) to push forward to achieve excellence in our chosen fields of endeavors. This is the right spirit to do things.Just as the FTO Fund was first mooted with the correct motives and directions.

We pray for the continued growth of all resources in our organizations, for continued courage and commitment to do morethan mediocrity, and that many more will step forward to lend a helping hand in carrying out God's Plans. We will not failwhen God directs our Paths and is There for Us.

He is presently theNational Coach for Paralympic, coach forKL State Youth and the asst. coach forMalaysian Tenpin Bowling CongressSpecial Squad. He is our LIFE membersince 1996.

The 13th Stedfast Golf Tournamentwas held at Templer Park CountryClub on 27th May 2010 as a kick-offevent for the 15th Stedfast KualaLumpur Anniversary Celebration. Atotal of 110 golfers teed off for around of 18 after a light lunch. Afteran intense afternoon of driving,chipping and putting, prizes wereawarded to all the winners duringthe dinner cum prize-giving. All thegolfers went home with at least a"prize" as we gave each one ofthem a goody bag and we alsohave had a lot of lucky draws prizeswhich were exclusively for the non-main prize winners. The Championfor the Tournament is Mr. RaymondTee and we want to take thisopportunity to thank all our faithfulgolfers, supporters, sponsors andmembers.

During the prize-giving and inconjunction with the Association's15th Anniversary, we took specialefforts to recognise the person whoinitiated "Stedfast Golf" more than12 years ago. Stedfast Golf is theonly fund-raising event organisedby the Association annually and wehave been having it without a breaksince 1998. Hence, we want tospecially thank the "Founder ofStedfast Golf", Mr. Danny Cheahfor his foresight and vision.

Finally we want to thank our goodLord for blessing us with goodweather and guiding us to makethis tournament a resoundingsuccess again.

Kuala Lumpur State BB Awards Camp 2010

The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia, Kuala LumpurState Council together with the support andexpertise of Stedfast Association of Kuala Lumpur,had organized the State Awards Camp 2010 fromthe 20 November to 23 November 2010 at NationalService campsite located at Kuala Kubu Bahru.

A total of 87 participants from Kuala Lumpur Stateand 62 participants from Selangor State took part inthe camp. The camp was facilitated by Officersfrom both States; 4 Officers from Kuala LumpurState and 4 Officers from Selangor State. All 129campers were divided into four platoons, each ledby 2 Officers throughout the camp.

A total of five badges were offered as Awards;Camping, Expedition, Nature Awareness, WaterAdventure and Fire and Rescue. As the number ofcampers was big, we also had a group of 6 Officersas Camp Helpers to assist in the smooth running oflogistics of the camp.

From the offices of Camp Advisor Mr. Michael Yei,and the Camp Commandant, we would like to thankall Officers including the Army Officers andCommandos, who have come to contribute inmaking the camp a success.

KL State Junior Camp was held at Kem Bina Semangat, Kuala Kubu Bharufrom November 20th to 22nd, 2010. A total of 80 Junior boys from various KLState companies attended with 10 Officers and 2 NCOs, headed by CampCommandant, Captain Jacob,

The theme of the Camp was “UNITED” – emphasizing on the strength ofteamwork and working together as a body of Christ. So, over the 3 days theyworked together in building up the bonding, comradeship as well as instillingthe BB culture in each member through activities like group dynamics,obstacles course, night jungle trekking, team building, etc. and before they leftfor home, they were fortunate to be provided the opportunity to visit the KKB’sFire Brigade Station and everyone had a "feel" of the life of being a fireman.

Last but not least, we also want to thank and praise our Almighty God for Hisgreat providence, protection and wisdom throughout the whole camp and notforgetting, Mr. Raj for his wonderful sharing of “Becoming Super Heroes forGod”, army commandos, Committee members, Camp Officers & NCOs.Finally, our heartfelt thanks to Stedfast Association Kuala Lumpur for theirtime and effort in coordinating this Junior Camp and the visit to the fire brigadestation.station.

The last founding member of the Boys' BrigadeSingapore, Mr Chua Siak Phuang, commonly knownas “SP Chua” was called home to be with the Lord on24 April, 2010 at the age of 96.

The late Mr SP Chua was an honorary president and one of the 12 foundingmembers of Boys' Brigade Singapore when it started in 1930. He had servedin the Brigade for the past 80 years - as BB Boy, Officer, Captain and BrigadePresident. He was once a President of the Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia in1964, where my late father Ong Tit Hoe was serving as his AssistantSecretary in the Brigade in Malaysia.

SP Chua once said “There is no retirement in the BB - because it is theLord’s work. The time I retire is when God stops me working - throughsickness or death.”

It was a privilege and honor for me to meet him during the 2nd StedfastRegional Games held in Singapore in 2009. My late father, alwaysmentioned his name when we talked about BB Singapore. Personally, I havenot met “Uncle” Chua before and by meeting him at the Regional Games wasindeed a great honor. Hence, I salute him for his love for BB and even at theage of 95 years, he took the trouble to visit us at the games venue.

Stedfast KL has also been made "well known" through him because hewas the one who invited us to write an article for their "Onlooker"magazine and remember, he gave us a center-spread full colour"exposure" while the other pages are just black and white ??

Danny and I knew John when we met him at the Stedfast InternationalConvention held in Kuching about 10 years ago and since then, he wasour main person of contact as far as London Stedfast is concerned.Hence, brother Derrick Dai, you might want to cherish that photo whichwe put out in our own Stedfast KL newsletter of you with him during oneof your trip to London. If my memory serves me correctly, the otherperson whom I have arranged to meet up with John was Geok Soon.

Last but not least, our deepest condolences to the family of the late Mr.John Bates during this difficult period from all of us at StedfastAssociation Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA.

Dear Friends ........ it is with profound sadness that I have to inform all of you thatJohn Bates, the London Stedfast Secretary had been called home to with ourLord Jesus Christ on 9th March, 2011. He was age 74 years and a very activeLondon Stedfast Secretary till the very end.

While writing this email to you guys, I am still dumbfounded and shock likethe people in Sendai, Japan, more so when I first heard the news. Anyway,I am consoling myself that our God wants him more and that John hadgone ahead of us ......... to build a "Stedfast Foundation" for all of us.Hence, his Stedfast work on earth is "done" for now.
