Best Practices Essay
This is the most important part of your application!
Please describe your project and explain why it should win the Australian Excellence in Business Intelligence Award.
A panel of independent Australian judges who have expertise in the Business Intelligence field will evaluate the
entries using the following criteria:
Business ImpactWhat is the business value of the solution or practice?
MaturityExplain the original vision for the project, the degree to which you think you have achieved it (or changed it), and what you still have left to do (short and long term). To what degree has the solution’s or practice’s ‘vision’ been implemented? Has the solution and/or practice been operating long enough to corroborate business impact and growth?
RelevanceDoes the solution or practice exemplify best practices that other companies can adopt?
InnovationDoes the solution or practice use an innovative design or approach? Innovation can relate to technology, business, organization, methodology.
Ensure you explain your solution or practice and its distinguishing features clearly for the judges. Please be
as specific as possible, especially when it comes to describing the business impact or business value of the project.
Judges love to hear of tangible benefits such as cost-savings and ROI figures as well as intangible benefits. Finally,
tell us what you think is new or different about your approach from other companies and what things others can
learn from your successes (or failures)?
