Auckland’s 17th Annual International Buskers Festival, showcases 12 of the most spectacular street performers on earth. TĀMAKI HERENGA WAKA FESTIVAL This free, family-friendly festival puts the unique Māori history, heritage and contemporary culture of Tāmaki Makaurau in the spotlight. It includes performances by established and emerging contemporary Māori artists and Auckland’s top kapa haka groups, workshops and talks, Māori crafts and kai, traditional games and healing, ta moko demonstrations, and storytelling. PORTS OF AUCKLAND SEEPORT FESTIVAL Ports of Auckland invites you behind the iconic red fence to discover your port from land, sky or glistening sea. Captain Cook Wharf is transformed into a bustling summer carnival with family-friendly rides, tours, great food and day-long entertainment on and off the water. Sun and sea are the perfect mix for a long weekend, and best of all it’s mostly free! CLOUD MARKET & NAVY SHIP OPEN DAY The Cloud will become a vibrant contemporary Market full of diverse cultural tastes and things to buy and will also host a games and fun area full of children’s activities. Climb aboard the HMNZS Te Mana for a guided tour below and above decks to learn the capabilities of one of New Zealand’s finest operational ships. Open ship on Queens Wharf Saturday and Sunday. MARITIME MUSEUM & EASTERN VIADUCT CARNIVAL The carpark will be full with carnival rides, a buskers’ pitch and free family activities. Pop in to the Maritime Museum to see the exhibition, At the Water’s Edge, hang out in the new end of wharf family space, sailings available to book all weekend, with special timings to view the regatta on Monday. PORTS OF AUCKLAND ANNIVERSARY DAY REGATTA Dragon boat racing. Tugboat race. Tugboat display. Race start off Princes Wharf. AUCKLAND TRANSPORT PLAY STREETS Come PLAY in Wynyard Quarter on Monday of Auckland Anniversary Weekend: ride a bike, walk, skate, sit back and relax. Many of the streets will be car-free and Jellicoe Street Carpark will be transformed into a central hub of activity & entertainment. Enjoy DJs, dance comps and take in the harbour views while riding or walking around a car-free Wynyard Point. SILO SESSIONS Silo Park celebrates Auckland with some of the best independent live (acoustic) music from Don McGlashan, SJD and Nadia Reid. Accompanied by the Silo Park Bar, food trucks and Silo Markets! SILO PARK SLUGGER Hit the ball out of the park with this pop up baseball batting cage located with a stunning harbour side view.
