the social group
• Our film has only two social group,• The two detectives are basic English
detectives dressed in simple suites and keeping their heads cool in difficult situations.
• The second social group is the Irish, specifically the IRA, presented by an unconventional character representing them.
However
• The major social group is the “IRA” representative.• She is a major, different character in our movie.• She is an up class high achieving woman, shown through her
costume.• She doesn’t appear as a normal IRA operative.• She acts in a very clever and unconventional way for an IRA
representative.• She shows a very cleaver and threatening side, most people
assume the IRA just go in all guns blazing and bomb their targets. However this character (Sally) is very calm and keeps cool when things get tough. She shows not all IRA representatives are dumb and all about bombs.
costuming• She wears very classy and upscale kinds of
clothing• In the first scene she is in a long dress,
typically used on a date or high class function.• In the second scene she is dressed a short
black dress, usually, again, used on a date. • This shows she is conscious of her appearance
and wants to look her best, but nobody would suspect her of being a mastermind criminal if she dresses like a real lady.
• The camera angles show the antagonist as powerful.
• The close up shows her face, very serious and stern.
• The low angle shot from the perspective of the detective looking at Sally shows her to be powerful and in control of the situation. The panning as she walks to pick up the gun shows she needs to be in the shot because she is important.
Camera angles
lighting• The lighting in the interrogation room is very
low key and incidental. The light is above the detective and therefore darkens Sally’s face.
• The lighting outside is all natural and keeps a realistic feel to the scene.
