Geotechnical instability in the Seawatch Concordia Subdivsion has resulted in multiple sinkholes. Because of the potential danger to life and health, the District of Sechelt has issued an Evacuation Alert for the following areas: 6629 to 6689 North Gale Avenue and 6644 to 6649 Seawatch Lane. An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however you may receive limited notice.

EVACUATION ALERT

Thursday February 7, 2019, 18:30

An Evacuation Alert has been issued by The District of Sechelt at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

Geotechnical instability in the Seawatch Concordia Subdivsion has resulted in multiple sinkholes. Because of the potential danger to life and health, the District of Sechelt has issued an Evacuation Alert for the following areas:

6629 to 6689 North Gale Avenue and 6644 to 6649 Seawatch Lane.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation;

however you may receive limited notice.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHEN AN EVACUATION ALERTIS IN EFFECT

Upon notification of an EMERGENCY ALERT, you should be prepared for theevacuation order by:

• Gathering essential items. See the attached list for details. Have these itemsreadily available for quick departure.

• Preparing to move any disabled persons and/or children.

• Moving pets to a safe area.

• Arranging to transport your household members in the event of an evacuationorder. If you need transportation assistance from the area please call

Add these items to your list:

• Medicine

• Wallet

• Pet carrier, leash, muzzle, food etc

• Baby needs: diapers, formula etc

• Glasses or contacts and related solutions

• important papers:

o Care Cards,

o medical records,

o passports,

o prescriptions,

o insurance papers etc

• Laptops, phones and chargers (hard drives too)

• Family jewellery, mementos, photos

• Clothes and toiletries
