If you love film...London’s Cinema Museum isdevoted to keeping alive thespirit of cinema from the daysbefore the multiplex. Set in anhistoric site in Kennington, closeto the Elephant & Castle, the Cinema Museum houses a unique collection of artefacts,memorabilia and equipment thatpreserves the history andgrandeur of cinema from the1890s to the present day.n We host programmes ofticketed events to raise funds.n We work with educationalinstitutions on projects and filmarchives on preservation. n We make items available onloan for exhibition.n We offer the venue for hire.n We enjoy working inpartnership on local wellbeinginitiatives.n We are a registered charitywith no public funding.

ChaplinCharles Chaplin, who was bornlocally, lived as a child in variousaddresses in this area andcarried throughout his life thebleak memories of his experienceat the Lambeth Workhouse sitewe currently occupy.

Visiting The Museum is available forguided tours most days, but thesemust be booked in advance byphone or email and are onlysuitable for older children. Pricesare £10 for adults and £7 forchildren and concessions.

Nearest tube/train stations:Kennington (Northern Line) and Elephant and Castle(Northern and Bakerloo lines,and BR) are both within easywalking distance.

Full disabled access.

Limited parking is available at the Museum. The Museum iswithin the Congestion Chargingzone, which operates until 6pmMon–Fri. After 6.30pm and atweekends there is free parking insurrounding streets.
