BOARD MEETING FLORENCE 2018 22ND ‐ 25TH OF FEBRUARY 2018 15
15 / 17
Items of the Agenda Content
1. Responsibilities of board members
CS explains the layout and how to access the website and its links.
VZ suggests that typical news/articles/pictures from the member organisations should be published
here.
CS stressed the importance of such news and encourages their dissemination, including relevant
news about national congress/meetings/projects.
SM reports that her (Irish) organization is critically asking: “What do we get back for our annual fee
of €200?” This is a legitimate question. But asking for immediate help and assistance for teaching PE
lessons (on a daily basis), might be too narrow a question.
A change of attitude is necessary. EUPEA can provide expertise and help when dealing with the national government, local education authorities, parents’ organizations, etc. And by participating in EUPEA‐FORUMs and meetings, valuable information can be acquired, how other countries organize PE lessons/prevent injuries in lessons/keep unruly children quiet/implement news, ideas in PE lessons. In short: a broader view is taken. Being a EUPEA member raises the awareness for the importance of PE Europe‐wide, thus helping PE teachers because national governments are increasingly more aware of PE’s importance.
2. EUPEA Priorities and action plan 2018‐2020
For the next board meeting, the members of the Central Region shall be invited, to have a meeting amongst themselves, finding and implementing a way to cooperate closer in future, like e.g. the Northern Countries. To facilitate this next meeting, a written summary/short report of the activities of each country should be handed in 6‐8 weeks before the meeting. Thus, common ground might be found for future shared common activities.
3. A.O.B none
End of meeting:
12.00, Claude thanks Chris for the perfect organisation and gives some presents
