  • The modern India's much more globalized than ever & the rise of a consumerist society has been pretty

evident. To cope with the growing needs of customers & also the dynamic market, it becomes all the more

critical for the industry to fine tune their logistical abilities to be able to better manage inventories & bridge the

    gap between demand & supply.

The present times have although witnessed an increase in uncertainty of supply networks, globalization of

business proliferation of product variety and a shortening of product life cycles, the biggest hindrance comes

across in the form of poor infrastructural facilities. Managing proper supply of products in the rural confines

poses major challenge. The cost of movement of goods shoots up tremendously due to improper road & rail

infrastructure & a limited choice in terms of transportation.

Developing larger distribution centers in the interiors will consolidate access to the hinterlands. Efficient

highway network helps in developing inter-state commerce systems while allowing efficient long-distance

travel. Developing cold supply chains shall go a long way in minimizing wastage that happens due to

improper infrastructure for temperature control and refrigeration of goods. Inland waterways too should be

developed with an aim to minimize the extra load on roads & railways. Integration of technology with the

supply chain will play a vital role in making logistic decisions as IT systems streamline processes & enable

effective decision making. All these measures aid in better movement of goods without obstruction while also

    promoting manufacturing.

    SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

    MOBILIZING INDIA

  • THE ECONOMIC TIMES

'SUPPY CHAIN MANAGEMENT & LOGISTICS SUMMIT'

ET Edge recognizes the significance of this sector as crucial for a nation's growth & presents 'The Economic

Times Supply Chain Management & Logistics Summit'; which brings together the barons from various

industries to deliberate & discuss on the current challenges through focused panel discussions & interactions.

Woven around the theme of 'Streamlining Supply Chain Processes' during the present times of an evident

slowdown, the conclave aims to specifically focus on the 'C' level executives leading the organizations from

the fore front while assessing the sector's course ahead & figuring out ways to mitigate risks, modernize,

integrate latest trends & future-proof business profitability.

The conference intends to leave the audience richer in terms of figuring ways to maximise business potential

by better handling their logistic demands.
