OverviewWith its outstanding and new RF direct sampling technology this new radio boosts transceivers / receivers into the new generation of software defined radios (SDR) with 24 kHz 1) wideband capabilities.

Being compliant to air traffic management protocol ED 137 for HF, the radio can easily be integrated into air traffic con-trol systems.

The modular concept of the ERX 3003 allows incremental upgrades. The unit provides facilities for various radio com-munication applications. Different hardware- and software-based options are available. The equipment is designed to service various kinds of interfaces and hence simplifies integration into complex systems.

Transmitters and receivers can be combined to transceivers in split side operation to enable full duplex operation.

Furthermore the new ERX 3003 is fully compatible with its predecessor ERX 3000. Thus TRX 3xxx series is upgradable to HF wideband transceivers.

Enhanced features�� The optional 24 kHz wideband mode implemented in the new generation will boost the maximum data throughput in single sideband from 9,600 bps up to 120,000 bps compared to its narrowband predecessor�� Automatic link establishment ALE 4G in acc. with MIL-

STD-188-141 D app. G (24 kHz WALE)�� Without additional preselector the receiver desensitisation in traditional co-site environments is already comparable to classical analogue radios with a 40 dB preselector.�� Syllabic squelch�� Configurable parameters for different headsets�� Integration of new waveforms possible – in the base unit as well as on optional modem card

Logistical advantagesWith the ERX 3003, HMK remains faithful to the logistic concept of minimizing the provision of device-specific spare parts. The construction as well as the internal modules of the ERX 3003 are the same for all 150 W to 10 kW transmit-ters / transceivers. The stand-alone receiver RX 3003 also features identical modules, however, the transmit function is disabled by its software configuration.

The ERX 3003 is designed for semi-duplex voice and data transmission / reception and con-tains the complete exciter / receiver unit and reserves space for e.g. multifunction data mo-dem and configurations modules. The RX 3003 is using the receiver part only and is equipped with an additional built-in power supply.

If SWD 5000 software is installed on your computer you can manage the configuration of the radio. The configuration file will be loaded into the SLT 3003.

Connect the SLT 3003 to the headset connector on the front panel of your radio and the updated configuration will be loaded into the radio.

Access Key AK 3003 The service tool protects access to initialization service and set-up area, preventing unauthorized settings of system parameters. Just plug-in the AK 3003 at the frontpanel headset connector.

Easy maintenance The construction of the ERX 3003 allows easy access to its modules. Especially exchanging of the built-in fan will take only minutes. Just unscrew a small cover at the bottom of the radio and pull out the combined fan/battery module.
