Mitten Tree: Donations for the mitten will run until Friday, December 18th. The Mitten Tree is located in
the front lobby of Erickson Elementary. Please consider donating new mittens and hats.
PARCC Assessment: The PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) exam
results for students in 4th and 5th grade will be mailed home to parents next week. The PARCC exam
replaced the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT), and Illinois students in grades 3-8 took the
PARCC exam for the first time last school year. The PARCC exam is designed to measure student
achievement based on the new, more rigorous Illinois Learning Standards for ELA and Math. The PARCC
results represent just one measure of a child’s performance in ELA & Math. While assessment data can
be helpful to teachers and school leaders, we understand that no single test or score can ever capture
the true extent of a child’s abilities or potential for learning. Click here for more information related to
the PARCC exam.
Winter Break: The Bloomingdale School District will be closed for winter break from December 19, 2015
– January 3, 2016. Students will return to school on Monday, January 4, 2016. There will be an assl-
school holiday sing-along on Friday, December 18th, followed by classroom parties at approximately 2:00
pm. Please refer to the attached flyer for more information on the holiday classroom parties.

Hot Lunch Online Form
We are trying out an online process for ordering hot lunch. It will eliminate a lot of paperwork and streamline the process, making it easier for the parents and the PTO.
A link will take you to an online form. You will put in your student’s information and choose the food items for the month of January. The form will calculate for you and you will pay via PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can pay by credit card. The link will be sent out Tuesday, December 15.
Any questions about the form or process, please contact [email protected] or [email protected], If you don’t have access to order online, please contact one of us.
We will try this for orders for the month of January ONLY. If all goes well, we will continue with the orders for the remainder of the school year.
