FROM THE PRINCIPAL ORGANISED INTERVIEWS

There have been instances of late where interviews have been arranged between teacher and parent before and

after school. On some of these occasions parents have failed to attend the interview and not notified the teacher of

their non-attendance. Quite often teachers rearrange their schedule to be available. It is only courtesy to contact the

teacher via the school office to let the teacher know if you are unable to keep an appointment. Please support us in

this.

MANDATORY UNIFORM IN 2020

Just to remind all of our parents that the new school uniform introduced at the beginning of 2018 will become

mandatory from the first day of 2020.

KINDERGARTEN 2020 INFORMATION EVENING

Last Wednesday we held our Information Evening for parents of our prospective 2020 kindergarten students. We

welcomed approximately 40-45 families represented at the evening. We look forward to those families becoming

part of the Epping School Community. If you know of any child who will be commencing at Epping next year and has

not enrolled, please advise them to contact the school office to do so.

CROSSING IN ESSEX STREET

The raised crossing in Essex Street is still going ahead. The wheels of government sometimes turn slowly but I have

been assured it is in the process.

LIBRARY NEWS Author Visits

Tim Harris, Jacqueline Harvey and Sue Whiting were the three authors who visited the school last week to help celebrate Book Week. The children enjoyed hearing about how these authors became writers and learned some valuable tips about using their imagination when writing their own stories.

Thanks to Mrs Yoo and Miss Gilbert for agreeing to dress up as carnivorous plants!

PSSA Netball

On Friday August 16th, our PSSA Netball Team played their final game of the season against Epping Heights Public School. The A Team played another 40 minute match with only 7 players, entering the second half up by 2 goals. The girls used their set plays to move the ball confidently down the court and defended tirelessly, forcing a number of errors. The B Team ended their first season looking like a competitive and exciting team. They worked hard to move in front of their players and passed the ball with greater accuracy. The team spoke to each other clearly and treated their opponents respectfully. At the start of the PSSA season, only five of our students had played a competitive game of Netball before. Despite opposing seasoned teams each week, the girls never gave up and have improved beyond words. Congratulations on all of your hard work this season ladies! You have made Miss Gilbert and I incredibly proud!
