McNair Scholars Are--

•Fired up by research

•Persons who want to pursue grad school for a research doctorate (typically the Ph. D.)

•Good students

•Either 1st generation students from low-income families ORstudents from groups underrepresented in doctoral programs

•American citizens or resident aliens

Aren’t McNair Scholars All Science Majors?

• Humanities – incl. English, Music, History, Art, Philosophy, Religious Studies, American Indian Studies

• Communication – incl. C&J, German, Spanish, Linguistics, Computer Science, Math, Computational Science
