Introducing the new Preparing students for high skill, high wage, high demand careers. SCTHS is an applicaon-based high school that will combine rigorous career and technical coursework with core curriculum classes on a single campus. Students will receive hands-on, project-based instrucon in one of the four academy career pathways. The goal is for students to earn college credit and industry cerficaons in partnership with Lee College. Students are prepared for finishing their associate and/or baccalaureate degree educaon or entry-level occupaons. Students will have the opportunity parcipate in intramural acvies, events specific to SCTHS and parcipate in SkillsUSA and FFA leadership acvies and career compeons. Students aending Stuart Career Tech HS will not have an opportunity to parcipate in tradional campus athlecs or fine arts that are available on tradional high school campuses. Transportaon will be provided. Students must complete the full applicaon process in January to be considered for an academy. CULINARY ARTS ACADEMY Career Cluster Focus: Hospitality & Tourism Endorsement: Business & Industry Description: Students in the Culinary Arts Academy learn to feed the world while

developing their passion for creating beautiful and healthy meals. Students study nutrition, restaurant management, food chemistry, and develop culinary skills while earning college credit and experience in the restaurant, hospitality or culinary industry. Practical experiences, like working in the Culinary Café, catering and other real-world activities will assist students in graduating college and career-ready!

EnrichmentOpportunities: College credit, SkillsUSA, Pro-Start, and multiple industry-related certifications are available for students.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION ACADEMY Career Cluster Focus: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources Endorsement: Business & Industry or STEM Description: Go Green! Students in the Environmental Conservation Academy focus on renewing,

reusing and protecting the earth’s resources. Students learn the knowledge and skills to pursue their dreams to make a positive change in their community, the environment and the world while earning their associate degree. This academy provides students with meaningful, hands-on experience with the theories, tools and techniques scientists use to study today’s pressing conservation issues. The classes in this academy include intensive and challenging field-based environmental science projects with invaluable experiences for students interested in the environment by fostering critical thinking and problem solving.

Enrichment Opportunities: Partnership with the Baytown Wetlands and Nature Centers for joint research

projects; Serve in FFA Leadership positions; Compete in FFA Leadership and Career Development Events, Baytown Youth Fair.

MANUFACTURING & INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE ACADEMY Career Cluster Focus: Architecture & Construction and Manufacturing Endorsement: Business & Industry Description: Students in the Manufacturing and Industrial Maintenance

Academy will learn about the careers in the local petrochemical industries from apprenticeships to two- and four-year college programs. The academy introduces to students how industry and technology work together to create the things we use every day. Careers in manufacturing and industrial maintenance offer exciting opportunities in designing and improving products, operating high-tech equipment, and analyzing problems to develop creative solutions, working with your hands and your mind. Earn NCCER credentials and/or Lee College certificates.

ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE ACADEMY Career Cluster Focus: Transportation, Distribution & Logistics Endorsement: Business & Industry Description: In the Advanced Automotive Academy, students will learn the skills and knowledge

required to begin a successful career in the automotive and collision repair industries. Classes combine technical, academic and automotive workplace knowledge and skills in an integrated curriculum using a NATEF certified facility. Students have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit for many of their academic and career courses. Four years in the Advanced Automotive Academy will lead students to a college certificate and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) student certifications. Seniors may participate in internships and scholarships are available to graduates.
