Are words that name a person, place or thing. This includes animals, events, qualities, emotions and concept. The noun has a vital position in the sentence.

1. PROPER NOUN
It denotes a particular person ,place or thing.
e.g. Edu , Philippines ,The Mecca , Dr. Sita.
2. COMMON NOUN
It is the name common to every thing or person of the same kind, class or group.
e.g. tiger, teacher , computer.
3.ABSTRACT NOUN
It denotes a quality , action, state , or idea.
e.g. music , childhood ,freedom.
4.COLLECTIVE NOUN
It denotes the name of the same type of persons or things taken together as one entity.
e.g. army, dozen ,class , committee , crowd, bouquet.
5.CONCRETE NOUN
The nouns that may appeal to one’s senses.
e .g .wood , plastic , paper ,wheat.
6.MASS NOUN
• The nouns that cannot be counted. This type of a noun does not have any plural equivalent. The use of counters or units if measures such as; a lot of, a kilo of, a slice of, a gallon of.
• e .g .a cup of tea, a tablet of medicine, a flash of lightning, a pack of cigarette.
7. COUNT NOUN
• The words that refer to things that can be counted. The use of counter or units of measure is used.
• e .g. A farmer, a tomato
8. COMPOUND NOUN
• The nouns that are made up of two words.
• e .g. Cupboard, notebook, horseman
Forming plural of nouns
• Most nouns are pluralized by adding –s, -es and changing y to i and add es.
Examples:
• potato – potatoes
• cameo – cameos
• baby – babies
