• POSTS AND ELIGIBILITY
The cut‐off date of post‐qualification relevant experience and upper age is 01.03.2011.
Where the qualifying examination is Graduation in Engineering / Post Graduation in Engg., the
candidates should have secured minimum 60 % or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination. They
should also have passed the qualifying examination in the minimum period required.

• CONCESSIONS & RELAXATIONS
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for Other Backward Classes
(OBC) – non creamy layer candidates.
Upper age limit for Persons with Disabilities (PD) candidates is relaxable by 5 years. Persons with
40% or more Disabilities shall be eligible for relaxation.
Post‐graduates in engineering will be given relaxation in experience by one year where minimum
requirement of qualification is B.E / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.)
Ph.D in engineering will be given relaxation in experience by four years where minimum
requirement of qualification is B.E / B.Tech. / BSc.( Engg.) and by three years where minimum
requirement of qualification is M.E / M.Tech. / M.Sc.( Engg.)
One post is reserved for Persons with Disabilities. PD candidates in any of the three categories
(Blindness or Low Vision; Hearing Impaired; and Locomoter disability or Cerebral Palsy) are eligible

• EMOLUMENTS
CTC shall include Basic Pay+DA+ HRA+Conveyance, Other Perks & Allowance+ PRP+ Retiral benefits like PF, Gratuity & Pension*. In addition, company has a Post Retirement Medical Scheme for employees who superannuate from the organization after putting in a minimum of 15 years of service. (* Pension Scheme is applicable to candidates who are 45 years of age or below as on date on which they come on the regular rolls of the Company. However, this condition shall not be applicable in case of candidates who join after resigning from any CPSE, provided the total of past service in the CPSE and future service in the company till the date of normal retirement is 15 years or more.)
• PLACE OF POSTING
The place of posting may be at Head Office New Delhi / Gurgaon, Regional Offices at Chennai,
Vadodara, Kolkata, Inspection Offices, and Construction Sites etc. However the place of posting can
be anywhere in India and abroad depending upon the exigency of work.

• GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Online submission of application will be permitted on the website between 0000 hrs on
17.03.2011 till 2400 hrs on 03.04.2011.
2. The e‐mail address specified in the application should be valid/ functional for at least 24 months
from the date of the submission of application. Intimation for interview shall be sent by email.
Kindly ensure that your email is valid and operational.
3. EIL may restrict the no. of candidates to be called for interview. Only short‐listed candidates will be
informed for further Interview.
4. Candidates should take print out and retain a copy of online application form(s) for future reference.
5. Copy of the online application is not to be sent by post. The print out of application should be
retained by candidate & four copies of the application is required to be submitted at the time
of Interview.
6. Those short listed for Interview shall be intimated through e‐mail. They are required to bring the
following original certificates along with attested photocopies as documentary proof at the time
of Interview:
• Proof of Age,
• Educational Qualifications (All the Mark sheets & Certificates)
• Service Certificate of past employment & proof of date of joining & its continuity in the present

• Last Salary Certificate (if applicable)

In the absence of any of the above documents, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for
interview and, in that case, no travel expenses shall be reimbursed.
7. Only those who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria need apply. If at any stage, it is found that
the candidate does not meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, he/she will be disqualified. EIL
reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason.
8. In case it is found at any stage that the candidate is neither meeting the requirements as laid down
in the advertisement nor has given correct information while filling up the on‐line application

form, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and in that case no traveling expenses shall be
reimbursed.
9. Candidates called for Interview for the post of Sr. Engineer / Dy. Manager /Manager / Sr.
Manager/ AGM / DGM shall be entitled for to & fro rail fare limited to AC II Tier or equivalent from
the mailing address mentioned in the on‐line application form to the venue of interview by the
shortest route as per rules. Candidates providing mailing address of a country other than
India, in the application form, will be reimbursed to and fro rail fare, as per entitlement
mentioned above, from the port of arrival in India to the venue of interview by the
shortest route as per rules.
10. The candidate will be required to fill in the Travelling Allowance (TA) form at the Interview centre
and submit proof for travel undertaken.
11. EIL shall not be responsible for any loss of email/communication letter sent, due to invalid/wrong
email id/wrong postal address/postal delays/loss in transit etc. No request in this regard will be
entertained.
12. Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Delhi.
13. EIL reserves the right to cancel the advertisement and/or the selection process there under without
assigning any reason.
14. Eligible candidates whose children/family members have died in the 1984 riots shall be given due
consideration in recruitment.
15. In case a candidate wishes to apply in more than one area, he should fill separate applications for
each post/area. All applications should be complete in all respects, as each will bear separate
registration number.
16. Provisions of the Persons with Disability Act for 3% reservation are being complied with.
17. Screening and selection will be based on the details provided, hence it is necessary that only

Engineering graduates, i.e. B.E./ B. Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) having relevant experience in independently
handling all aspects of project execution for Nuclear Power projects including co‐coordination of
various activities like process and systems design, detailed engineering, procurement, cost control,
planning & scheduling (PERT/ CPM), construction and commissioning of the projects. Candidate
should have knowledge of AERB rules and requirements, ASME Section III and other relevant
national/ international codes for nuclear power industry. Exposure to proposal engineering, pre/
post award contract management, financial modeling or post graduate qualifications in Nuclear
power field shall be an added advantage. Experience in engineering/operating companies in the
field of Nuclear Power Plants shall be preferred. The candidate should be fully conversant with
applicable codes and safety requirements of such Power Plants.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT (THERMAL POWER)
CODE 10‐11/08/A2 Projects (Dy. Manager /Manager/Sr. Manager)
Engineering graduates, i.e. B.E./ B. Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) having relevant experience in independently
handling all aspects of project execution for Thermal Power projects including co‐coordination of
various activities like process and systems design, detailed engineering, procurement, cost control,
planning & scheduling (PERT/ CPM), construction and commissioning of the projects. Candidate
should be aware of Indian Boiler rules and requirements, ASME and other relevant national/
international codes for thermal power industry. Exposure to proposal engineering, pre/ post award
contract management, financial modeling shall be an added advantage. Experience in
engineering/operating companies in the field of Thermal Power Plants shall be preferred. The
candidate should be fully conversant with applicable codes and safety requirements of such Power
Plants.

process design and engineering of various systems for Nuclear/ Power/ Steam block, Utilities (air,
water, steam, nitrogen, hydrogen etc.) for Nuclear power plants. Should have experience in various
engineering activities such as preparation of design basis, system/ equipment sizing, preparation of
technical specifications for procurement/ construction, specifying safety requirements and
guarantee parameters. Should be well conversant with ASME Section III and other relevant
national/ international codes and safety requirements for nuclear power industry and shall have
knowledge of AERB rules and requirements. Post graduate qualifications in Nuclear power engg.
shall be an added advantage. Experience in engineering/operating companies operating in Nuclear
Power Plants shall be preferred.
TECHNOLOGY (THERMAL POWER)
CODE 10‐11/08/B2 Technology (Thermal Power) (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager/Manager/Sr. Manager) Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering graduates, i.e. B.E./ B. Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) having experience in
engineering of various systems for Power/ Steam block, Material handling systems of Coal based
thermal power plants. Should have experience in various engineering activities such as basic
system design, thermal power cycle, heat balance diagrams, system/ equipment sizing, preparation
of technical specifications, specifying safety requirements and guarantee parameters, familiarity
with softwares such as STEAM PRO. Exposure to proposal engineering, preparation of DFR/ DPR,
pre/ post award contract management, financial modeling or post graduate qualifications in
Thermal power engineering shall be an added advantage. Experience in engineering/operating
(Thermal Power Plants) shall be preferred. The candidate should be fully conversant with Indian

Boiler Rules and requirements, ASME and other relevant national /international codes and safety
requirements for such Power Plants.
DETAILED ENGINEERING (NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS)
CODE 10‐11/08/C1 Piping (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager/Manager/Sr. Manager) Engineering graduate, i.e B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical discipline having experience in
equipment/piping layout, Piping Materials and Standards, Piping material take off, static & dynamic
stress analysis using Caesar‐II, supporting and other functions of piping engineering for Nuclear
Power Plants. Knowledge of using 3‐D systems like PDS, PDMS etc. will be an added advantage.
Experience in engineering companies working for Nuclear Power Plants shall be preferred. The
candidate should be fully conversant with applicable codes and safety requirements for such Power
Plants.
CODE 10‐11/08/C2 Rotating Equipment (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager/Manager/Sr. Manager)
Engineering graduate, i.e B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical discipline having experience in
rotating machinery design, application engg., specifying rotating machinery for Nuclear Power
Plants, thorough knowledge about the aspects of detail engg. and maintenance aspects, Specific
familiarity with national and International codes as used for rotating machinery, and technical
specifications of leading engg. companies is a must. Experience in engineering companies working
for Nuclear Power Plants shall be preferred. The candidate should be fully conversant with
applicable codes and safety requirements for such Power Plants.
CODE 10‐11/08/C3 Static Equipment (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager/Manager/Sr. Manager)
Engineering graduate, i.e B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical discipline having experience in
design of pressure vessels, safety vessels, columns, towers, tanks, silos, spheres, mounded bullets,
heat exchangers, air coolers, engineering for procurement, technical evaluation of bids, vendor

drawing and data review including fabrication drawings and engineering for construction for
Nuclear Power Plants. Knowledge of using software viz. Pvelite/Compress/Micro Portal is essential.

The candidate should be fully conversant with applicable codes and safety requirements for such
Power Plants.
CODE 10‐11/08/C4 Package Equipment (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager/Manager/Sr. Manager)
Engineering graduate, i.e B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical discipline having experience in
design, engineering of packages involved in Nuclear Power plants, viz. PSA Plants (H2 & N2),
Centrifuges, Rotary Drum, Dryers, Instrument Air Dryer, Air Separation Plants, Material handling
equipments etc. Candidate should be conversant with relevant National & International codes and
standards. Candidate must be proficient in computer and should have working knowledge of
AUTOCAD system. Experience in engineering companies operating in Nuclear Power Plants industry
shall be preferred. The candidate should be fully conversant with applicable codes and safety
requirements for such Power Plants.
CODE 10‐11/08/C5 Electrical (Sr. Engineer/ Dy. Manager /Manager/Sr. Manager)
Engineering graduate, i.e B.E./ B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical discipline having experience in
basic system design, Equipment specifications, Engineering for Procurement, Technical evaluation
of bids, vendor drawings and data review and engineering for construction. Candidate shall be
conversant with HV/MV Switchboards, Transformers, Motors, VFD System, Fire Alarm &
Communication system, protection & Metering system, Area classification, development of SLD,
Cable Schedule etc. for Nuclear Power plants. Experience of Field Engineering and assistance in
Construction/Commissioning is desirable. Experience in engineering companies operating in
Nuclear Power Plants industry shall be preferred. The candidate should be fully conversant with
applicable codes and safety requirements for such Power Plants.
