B. Select the applicable FMU Table 2, 3 or 4 from Figure 1, sheets 1, 2 and 3, to
determine which (if any) Service Bulletins must be incorporated into the subject
engine before performing an engine model rating change.

C. Remove the Data Entry Plug by the procedure given in Reference AMM
Chapter/Section 73-22-35-300-010-A01, Replace the jumpers, contacts or
connector, VRS3500.

D. Disassemble the Data Entry Plug assembly Part No.2A3106 by the procedure
specified in Chapter/Section 73-22-35-300-010-A01, Replace the jumpers, contacts
or connector, VRS3500 and figure 2.
NOTE: The Data Entry Plug assembly can be disassembled as necessary to permit
the installation of the necessary jumper wires.

F. Mark the existing Data Entry Plug connections on the diagram in Figure 3A. M

G. After marking the existing Data Entry Plug wiring in Figure 3A, make sure all the
connections originate from the ground pin to the non-ground pin. If not, re-arrange
the marking to meet this requirement. See Figure 4 for an illustration of which pins
are the ground pins. See Figure 5 for an example of correcting the marking of the
Data Entry Plug diagram.
NOTE: Jumper wires are utilized for the Variant, Engine Serial Number and EPR
Modifier. Only the jumpers for the Variant require removal. The other
connections need to be maintained per steps (H) through (K) below.

H. Locate the current variant number in either Table 5 or Table 6 if the engine is a
Standard A5 engine, (or) Table 7 or Table 8 if the engine is a Select One™ engine.
Make note of the pin connections for Channel A and B listed in this table. Highlight
only these pin connections in Figure 3A. Refer to figures 6 and 7 for details.

I. Using the same table from step (H), locate the variant of the desired new engine
thrust rating. Mark these pin connections on the diagram in Figure 3B.
NOTE: Desired new engine thrust could be find in the Engine Data Plate

J. Now ignore the highlighted variant connections in Figure 3A (the old variant
connections) and copy the rest of the connections to the diagram in Figure 3B.
CAUTION: WHILE RE-WIRING THE DATA ENTRY PLUG PER FIGURE 3B FOR
NEW ENGINE VARIANT, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE GROUND
PINS.

K. Determine the jumper pin changes required from the differences between the
diagrams in Figure 3A and 3B and any new jumpers needed. See Figure 2, and
AMM Chapter/Section 73-22-35-300-010-A01, Replace the jumpers, contacts or
connector, VRS3500, Figure/Item No. 01-100).
CAUTION: INSTALLATION OF AN INCORRECTLY WIRED DATA ENTRY PLUG
CAN LEAD TO OPERATIONAL ISSUES INCLUDING THE
POSSIBILITY OF AN ENGINE SURGE.

peen procedure specified in V2500 SPM Chapter/section 70-09-00, Marking of
Parts and Figure 9.

P. Install the Data Entry Plug by the procedure specified in AMM Chapter/Section 73-
22-35-300-010-A01, Replace the jumpers, contacts or connector, VRS3500.

Q. Record the new power rate of the engine in the identification plate as follow:
1) Record with a X the type of the engine identification plate in according to figure
10:
i. Non-Reusable engine identification plate P/N 5A1874: _______
ii. Reusable engine identification plate P/N 5A1875: _______
iii. Reusable engine identification plate P/N 5A1942: _______
2) If the register engine identification plate is reusable P/N 5A1875, remove and
install a new power rate indication rivet PN 5A1857. Refer to figure 11 and figure
12.
a) Drill a hole 0.098 - 0.101 in. (2,5 - 2,56 mm.) diameter at the circle
marked on the Engine Identification Plate at the designated rating, and
deburr the hole.
b) Install the Engine Rating Indicator, P/N 5A1857 (IAE Rivet) through the
Engine Identification Plate, P/N 5A1875 at the designated rating and
squeeze with the power riveter.

3) If the register engine identification plate is reusable P/N 5A1942, remove and install
a new power rate indication rivet PN 5A1857. Refer to figure 11and figure 12.

Reusable Engine Identification Plate PN 5A1875 or PN 5A1942.

R. Check the Data Entry Plug wiring by interrogating the MCDU, when the engine is
installed on the aircraft. Use the procedure specified in Chapter/Section of AMM 73-
22-35-300-010-A01, Replace the jumpers, contacts or connector, VRS3500.
