Drainage
Project Understanding• This is a SCOP project and has an agreement with FDOT. Use RRR criteria.
• Perform survey and roadway core sampling services.
• Mill and resurface the length of the project.
• Widening to provide 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders (2-foot paved).
• Installation of mitered end sections at side drains where they do not exist.
• Improvements to cross drain end treatments within the clear zone.
• Pavement marking upgrades along the length of the project, including installation of rumble striping or profiled thermoplastic.
• Replacing traffic signage along the length of the project to meet current FDOT standards and retro-reflectivity requirements.
Limits of Construction
Typical Section
• Assumes 50 mph design speed
• Could potentially be reduced to 45 mph design speed
• Evaluate objects in Clear Zone
Accurate Pavement Evaluation• Understand existing AADT and
truck percentages
• Develop projected AADT for the design year (20-years out)
• Collect pavement cores to evaluate existing asphalt/limerock/subgrade conditions
• Perform ESAL calculations for the design life of the roadway
• Develop a pavement section which exceeds required structural number
Right-of-Way
• Wantman Group currently preparing R/W maintenance map
• Limited distance between existing edge of pavement and fence
• Right of entry agreements or temporary construction easements may be necessary
• Based on Property Appraiser, R/W is approximately 60’ in most areas, 50’ in others
