ENGINETECHNOLOGY[ IGNITION ]
Two different ignition curves allow the
engine characteristics to be altered to
suit the track and rider. Ignition curves
are chosen by using a plug-in connec-
tion or an accessory switch from the
PowerParts catalogue.
[ EXHAUST CONTROL ]
The response of the exhaust
control can be changed by
using two springs of different
hardness, which are supplied.
A special tuning measure which
offers “soft” or “aggressive”
power delivery.

[ TANK / AIRFLOW-SYSTEM ]
The tank has been designed primarily for ergonomics and provides
optimum contact with the bike. The ducts of the KTM AIRFLOW-system,
through which fresh air flows to the airbox, are situated below the
spoilers.
[ TANK COVER ]
The tank cover with the bayonet cap and new non-return valve avoids unwanted opening by
providing an additional level of security. When unlocked, access is obtained by pressing the
orange inner segment – you can’t get more secure than that!

[ VALVES ]
The aims: minimum moving masses, maximum valve
lift and optimum durability. Ultra-light titanium valves
with new springs and valve guides and new weight-
optimized cam levers make this possible.
[ TRANSMISSION ]

reinforced sliding gear of
the 3rd / 4th gear and an
optimized idler gear of
the 3rd gear. This guaran-

[ FORK ]
Fully re-designed fork with comprehensive adjustment settings for the
best possible adaptation to the track and to the rider. It can be opti-
mally and comfortably adjusted in rebound and compression and also
in spring preload – thanks to new star-shaped adjusting elements.
[ AIRBOX ]
A trend-setting airbox with a large volume for huge
amounts of power and a special outer contour for
optimum knee purchase. The Twin-Air air filter is
easily accessible and can be exchanged quickly
without using tools.

[ CYLINDER HEAD ]
The overhead camshaft not only
actuates the four titanium inlet
valves via ultra-light cam levers
but also serves as a centrifuge
for engine ventilation. The
optimized auto-decompression
system improves starting
behaviour and the obliquely
mounted magnesium cylinder
head cover greatly simplifies
valve adjustment.
[ CRANK DRIVE ]
A compact crankshaft designed for maximum stiff-
ness actuates the very light forged pistons and
also drives a balancer shaft. The weights of this
balancer shaft are arranged outside the crank-
case, which reduces splashing losses.

The 39 mm Keihin flat side
carburetor uses an ac-
celerator pump and slide
potentiometer to produce
instant throttle response

ENGINETECHNOLOGY[ CLUTCH ]
The hydraulic clutch
actuator from Brembo

[ FRAME ]
The tubular space frame made of Chromoly tubes ensures the highest degree
of torsional resistance for outstanding track stability at the lowest weight.
[ CHASSIS ]
The high-grade fork and shock absorber made by WP are
fully adjustable. With the new setting, they guarantee even a
smoother response with maximum shock-absorbing reserves for
rugged off-road action and increased everyday driving comfort.

STRIPPED 690 ENDURO [ AIRBOX ]
Large-volume airbox in the tubular lattice frame above the
cylinder. Provides high performance and, together with the
long intake snorkel, efficient noise damping. With well-
dimensioned paper lamellae, the air filter provides effective
cleaning, over a large area, of the intake air which is sucked
in below the seat at a position which is protected from dirt.
[ SWING ARM ]
Single-part cast aluminium swing arm with low weight
and suspension-enhancing flexible properties.
Pro-Lever deflection for progressive shock absorber
articulation, and a low, steep monoshock position for
the benefit of a maximum tank volume.
[ REAR END ]
Single-part, self-supporting tank / rear-end unit made from robust plastic without
additional metal struts and with integrated fuel pump and 12 litre tank volume.
Included footpegs and handles allow simple retrofitting for pillion riding.
[ TANK COVER ]
Lockable tank cover, integrated optimally
behind the seat.
[ BRAKES ]
Two-piston floating caliper and 300 mm brake disc at the

[ ENGINE MANAGEMENT ]
Innovative engine management with electronic injec-
tion and EPT (Electronic Power Throttle) system – the
position of the throttle is electronically controlled in
addition to the manual throttle twist grip actuation.
This guarantees very uniform power delivery which
can be switched between “soft” or “aggressive”
using the “Map Select Switch” under the seat.
There is an additional switch position for the use
of low-octane fuel (down to 80 octane).
