Liza Blumenfeld, MA, CCC-SLP, BRS-SLiza is an expert in dysphagia management. She

has practiced as a medical speech- language

pathologist since 1996. Currently, she serves as a

clinical manager in a thriving hospital-based

practice that includes a dedicated voice and

swallowing center. She has authored two

publications exploring efficacy of e-stim and the

special interests include FEES, head and neck

cancer and tracheostomy management. She is

passionate about educating her peers in the

effective use of endoscopy for improved patient

Erin Walsh, MA, CCC-SLP, IBCLCErin has worked exclusively in professional voice

rehabilitation since 2005. She holds an

undergraduate degree in vocal performance and

has sung professionally. As a voice pathologist, Erin

enjoys developing creative and efficient therapeutic

techniques that lend to rapid recoveries. She

lectures throughout the community about vocal

health and collaborates with university music faculty

to prevent laryngeal injuries. Erin has a well

established outpatient practice at a hospital-based

voice and swallowing center, where she also

provides expert care for newborns with feeding

difficulty. She holds dual certification as a lactation

consultant.

COURSEObjectives

• Achieve a minimum of 5 transnasal and

5 transoral endoscopy passes

• Name materials required for each type

of endoscopy

• Verbalize relevant anatomical structures

while passing the scope

• Discuss nasal, pharyngeal and

laryngeal appearance while performing

endoscopy

• Complete 4 patient reports based on

recorded FEES and/or strobe exams

• Indicate process for scope sterilization

applicable to place of employment
