Stand Out From The Crowd
Loben partners with you to take your business operations
to the next level. We assist you to attain and maintain
your position as an industry leader by working with you to
design and operate proactive systems. These systems do
more than just provide problem solutions... we establish
systems which take both the curative and preventative
to addressing your corporate concerns.
Drive Your Rising Operational Costs Back Down These are the days of stifling operational costs and an increasingly
competitive environment for the provision of your goods and ser-
vices. It therefore is becoming increasingly imperative to take a
much closer look at your bottom line by driving operational costs
down.
Loben utilises a non-traditional approach in working with you to drive
these costs down. We seek hidden effects (Intangible Costs) which
often times are of greater causal effects than more obvious tradition-
al ones. Operational costs are made up of both tangible and intan-
gible costs.
Tangible costs are calculated up front and are real… they are the
first choice for the vast majority of corrective systems which are de-
signed to address these issues. This is the traditional approach.
Intangible costs on the other hand are less easily measured but do
ultimately have a greater impact on your bottom line than is gener-
ally realised, appreciated or even understood. Intangible costs may
be perceived as the “silent killer” and may for instance include costs
from a situation of poor employee morale occurring after a new
company practice or policy is inappropriately introduced. The sub-
sequent costs incurred in correcting resultant issues may far outweigh
the financial or operational benefits of the new policy.
These costs which may also include loss of business opportunities/
market share due to low employee morale, are not always fore-
seen. They may start the snowballing effect of a pattern of loss..
Tangible Costs - Salaries, Insurances &
Wages
They are:
Are calculated up front and are real
Crucial to your business's success or
failure
Easily documented and produce ob-
vious benefits
The first choice for the vast majority of
corrective systems
Intangible Costs - The “Silent Killer”
Have greater impact than generally
realised
Less easily measured
Consequences:
Start the snowballing effect of a pat-
tern of loss
Loss of business opportunities/market
share
Low employee morale

Solutions
EBUSINESS SOLUTIONS Crew Resource Management (CRM) & Human Factors (HF) Training
Growing a good CRM operational culture. This is achieved by addressing CRM in
three theatres of operation – simulator training, line flying & classroom based training.
Operations Training, Evaluation and Research System (OTERS)
Development of an all-encompassing system relevant to the professional needs of
all company employees. It deduces and specifies exactly what type and frequency
of relevant training each member of staff should be receiving.
Management Development Programs (MDP)
Development of a training program designed for serving company leadership and
prospective candidates who are required to carry out supervisory and managerial
duties.
Employee Career Progression Scheme (ECP)
Development of a scheme which would specify training, development programs
and stages of professional progression required for each employee.
Employee Standards Rehabilitation (ESR)
The ESR program is designed to raise and maintain core knowledge and skill levels of
all employees to those obtainable on the international market.
Company Operational Safety Audits (COSA)
The true test of the health of an operational system does not lie in traditional audits,
which are basically snapshots of what was observed during the process. COSA built
on the Threat and Error Management module assesses levels of safety and efficiency
in a non-threatening manner to the individuals operating in systems being assessed.
Employee Retention Strategy Planning (ERS)
A higher than average incidence of employee turnover leads to increased cost of
retraining replacement employees to maintain the required levels of operational
competence. The ERS adequately addresses appropriate needs of employees at all
levels in order to create an environment which encourages employment longevity.

George’s professional employee training expertise span over 20
years and has focused on the pragmatic approach to the use of
core Human Factors (HF) skills in the design and management of
safety, training and operational systems. The developed systems
are not primarily concerned with the technical knowledge and skills
required to operate in any environment, but rather with the cogni-
tive and interpersonal skills needed to operate within any organised
system.
Operating a consultancy based in the Town of Cochrane, Alberta,
Canada, George develops systems which take a pragmatic ap-
proach to the development and management of safety/training
systems (Regulatory and Non-Regulatory), procedures, programs
and manuals. These promote and improve safety and opera-
tional competence and thus productivity of businesses
George also serves as a speaker internationally on HF, Employ-
ee Training and Business Operations related subjects and has served
annually as a speaker at CHC Helicopter Safety and Quality Sum-
