Welcome new employee!

On behalf of your colleagues, we welcome you to Rocky Mountain SER/Jobs forProgress, Inc. and wish you every success here.

We believe that each employee contributes directly to the success of the companyand those we serve. We hope you will take pride in being a member of our team.

Please review your employee handbook as it was developed to describe some of theexpectations of our employees and to outline the guidelines, programs, and benefitsavailable to eligible employees. Employees should familiarize themselves with thecontents of the employee handbook as soon as possible, for it will answer manyquestions about employment with Rocky Mountain SER/Jobs for Progress, Inc.

Rocky Mountain SER was created on October 1, 1980 toprovide employment, training and educationalopportunities to Colorados disadvantaged.

Governance

RMSERs Board of Directors, Sets policy for theCorporation and supervises the Chief ExecutiveOfficer.

The Board of Directors consists of communityleaders from throughout the state, Head Startparents and other constituents, as well as private

business representatives. RMSERs Board of Directors shares governance for

the Head Start Programs with the Head Start PolicyCouncil (HSPC).

The Corporate Headquarters are located in Denver CO, and

centralizes key administrative functions.

The key services provided by Central Administration are: overalladministration, program development, fiscal, human resources,

public relations, risk management and program operations

These services assist all of the programs that RMSER

administers.

RMSER PROGRAMS

Head Start: RMSER operates 80 Head Start centers in Colorado serving 2100

children and their families. Rocky Mountain SER Head Start program provides early

child development services for children between the ages of 3-5 years old

Workforce: Rocky Mountain SER offers development opportunities to individuals

and employers. Rocky Mountain SER continues to be at the forefront of workforce

development in Colorado. The National Farm Worker Jobs Program assists migrant

and other seasonally-employed farmworkers and their families to achieve

economic self sufficiency.

SCSEP: The Senior Community Services Employment Program is designed toenhance employment and training for seniors

Paid Time Off 

PTO will be awarded beginning with the month following the

successful completion of ninety (90) days of employment.

PTO is intended to be taken during the year in which it isgranted. For year-round employees, any PTO remaining on

August 31st of any year will be forfeited.

PTO days should be planned, scheduled, and approved inadvance whenever possible.

Medical, Dental ,Group Life

Beginning with the first of the month following 90 days of 

employment, regular full-time and regular full-time Head Start

employees are eligible to participate.

Employees are given the opportunity to enroll in a group life

insurance policy, the cost of which is split between the Company

and the employee.

Employees are automatically eligible for Long Term Disability

Insurance when they enroll in the Group Life Insurance.

Retirement Plan

RMSER employees can participate in a 401 (K) retirement plan

through Principal Financial.

To Be eligible, an employee must be at least 21 years of age, havebeen with the company for at least 12 months, and have completed a

minimum of 1,000 hours of service.

The plan offers diverse investment choices that include conservative,

moderate and aggressive mutual funds to meet individual employeesneeds.

Safety /Reporting an Injury Rocky Mountain SER is committed to a safe working environment for

employees. Report any unsafe practices or conditions to your supervisor

immediately. All employees are required to adhere to company safety rules, work in a safe

manner and to report unsafe conditions or hazardous activities of other

employees to the management of RMSER.

Constant awareness of, complying with, and respect for this policy is a

condition of employment.

The intent of management of RMSER, is to create a work environment where

the safety and health of employees, the public and the company are

essential.
