Emory University Waste Policy In 2016, Emory University launched a new 2025 Sustainability Vision that includes a commitment to a post-landfill future at Emory. To implement that vision, Emory is transitioning to a new waste, composting, and recycling policy. The new policy has been supported by the President’s Leadership Group, the University Senate, and all unit Deans. This policy recognizes the dramatic environmental and social impact of landfills — and seeks to divert 95% of the University’s landfill waste by 2025. Campus Services and the Office of Sustainability are working to notify and prepare our campus community for these changes before they go into effect in January, 2018. To prepare for the January 2018 launch, please take a moment to view and share with your departments and constituents this information, along with this short 3 minute video https://youtu.be/OLbrs3hb__w. To schedule a briefing for your department or for questions about the policy change, please email [email protected]. An FAQ about the policy change can be found on the Sustainability Initiatives website along with the full policy.
