    What is EPRIMS?

    • Web-based knowledge management tool for:

    • Emergency preparedness and response self-assessment

    • Nuclear reactor technical information

    • A database of information about a country’s arrangements and systems for managing nuclear and

    radiological emergencies

    • EPRIMS replaces TSA5 of RASIMS

    What are the needs that EPRIMS

    respond to?

    • Self-assessment • EPRIMS allows a country to measure itself against the IAEA safety

    standards

    • Harmonization • Knowing about other countries’ EPR arrangements helps

    harmonization

    • Global understanding • Sharing information on issues and challenges promotes a global

    understanding

    • Enhance national capabilities • Sharing knowledge on solution helps enhance national capabilities

    • Better prognosis and assessment • Sharing data on reactor designs helps the prognosis and

    assessment during emergencies

    • It reflects the updated requirements in GSR Part 7

    • Can have multiple users within the country for easy review and coordination of self-assessment (Country coordinator/

    National User)

    • Can designate partner countries for sharing information

    • Information is confidential until it is published

    • Country Coordinator can choose with whom wants to share information after publishing

    • A Note Verbale (NV) has been distributed to all countries requesting designation of National

    Coordinators

    • All responses to this NV were positively addressed

    Every Member State is encouraged to:

    • Designate one or more national EPRIMS coordinator(s)

    • Take advantage of EPRIMS benefits to have an updated self-assessment of EPR capabilities and available reactor technical

    information

    • Provide feedback to IAEA to continuously improve the system

    • Submit modules to IAEA

    • Publish modules

    • Share as needed relevant information at national, regional and global level
