PROGRAM FORMAT The Fisher EMBA has been designed to accommodate the demands of your busy schedule. Students meet on campus once per month for three to four consecutive days. Fisher EMBA students travel from across the U.S.; you do not have to live near campus to be successful in the program. Our faculty creatively deliver the comprehensive curriculum during your on-campus sessions to give you immediate applicability. And you will engage in online learning during the periods between on-campus sessions. The program begins December 2015 and concludes with graduation inside Ohio Stadium in May 2017.

To further maximize the learning experience, the Fisher EMBA staff provides an exceptional level of personalized support. We take care of you so that you can excel.

ORIENTATION WEEKThe Fisher EMBA begins with a fast-paced orientation residency so that you can immediately prepare for the academic rigor of the program and get to know your classmates through team-building exercises. The orientation is the official start to the program. Students should expect their studies to begin in December 2015 and have an appropriate time-management plan in place.

THE FISHER EMBA CURRICULUMToday’s business challenges are multidimensional. Through a combination of core courses and elective offerings, our comprehensive and globally focused curriculum examines issues from every angle to provide you with a total business perspective.

CORE COURSES

The core courses present the fundamentals of business to help you think more strategically across all areas. Below is a sample of core topics.

• Organizational behavior examines group and team effectiveness, managing performance, power and influence, leadership, conflict management and organizational culture. Students will participate in various assessments to better understand leadership styles resulting in a powerful leadership legacy exercise.

• Strategy formulation and implementation develops frameworks for understanding customer needs, market dynamics and the factors that shape competitive success or failure.

• Finance management explores important decisions such as project selection and financing, starting with the fundamental concepts of valuation and risk return.

• Microeconomic theory helps business leaders develop effective structures and systems to implement their firms’ strategies.

• Business statistics puts the emphasis on application-oriented understanding of data analysis tools and techniques to solve problems and reveal opportunities.

• Operations explores the ability to manage value creation processes; students will review strategic issues in managing operations to compete in global and local markets as well as analyze processes, capacity, quality and improvement policies in service and manufacturing.

• Accounting for decision making examines fundamental concepts and techniques that are employed to facilitate planning, performance evaluation and control.

• Marketing management focuses on creating superior customer value, and introduces tools to segment markets, target customers, and ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

ELECTIVE OFFERINGS

Electives provide a continuation of in-depth exploration of business topics. Each class selects electives through a democratic process to create a customized classroom experience.

GLOBAL BUSINESS PERSPECTIVES Recognizing that successful decision making may often depend on how well you understand the current global business environment, the Fisher EMBA curriculum incorporates a global perspective that forms an integrative thread throughout the program.

Topics are viewed not only with the total organization in mind, but also in the context of their socioeconomic, political and cultural environments.

IN-COUNTRY EXPERIENCE

The Fisher EMBA also requires an international residency as part of the program experience.

Students recently traveled to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong as part of their Fisher EMBA, for example. While abroad, you will be immersed in a cultural and educational experience designed to provide a holistic view to understanding global business.

PROGRAM FEES

• The program fee for the EMBA Class of 2017 is $115,000

• The program fee includes instructional fees, program materials and some expenses associated with the international residency (lodging, in-country transportation, some meals, busing and guide expenses are included; airfare to and from the destination is not included)

• A $1,500 deposit is required upon admission and is non-refundable after orientation begins

EARLY ADMISSION ADVANTAGE

Rolling admissions allow candidates to apply early. Once you are admitted and have paid your deposit, you will be invited to take advantage of pre-program educational activities and networking events with current students and alumni.
