The world known glass producer, Venini, took me under its wing offering me a work experience at their Venice based factory. From the furnace sector to the moleria sector, from the colours’ chemist to the packaging sector, they were a second family to me. Humble and simple people, they were hiding knowledge that I could not find in any book. Moreover, in 2011 I had the amazing chance to follow and help the Campana brothers in their tribute work for the Venini’s 90th anniverisary. In this occasion I came across an utterly different aspect of design: the re-use, a way of changing the intrinsic functionality of an object at zero cost.

blends the knowledge of the blow glass of Murano, and not only, in a single vase using the incalmo technique to unify two half apples made with different techniques. The vase merges the application of mur-rina with the use of the “filigrana”; the combination of plate glass with opaque glass. The apple, the heart of the vase, has always been a symbol of knowledge; it is the symbol of Murano and a clear manifesto of the refined glassmaking culture that has always been inherent in the island

The aim of this International Competi-tion is to design a free standing World Cup Structure in Lapa square in the heart of Rio de Janeiro during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The neighborhood of Lapa, known as the cradle of bohemian Rio is also famous for its architecture, with struc-ture such as the arches “Arcos da Lapa” constructed in 1723. It was intended to transport water from the Carioca river height to the surrounding area, now serves as a track for the cable cars that climb the hill of Santa Teresa and an iconic landmark.

redevelopment of Sacca Fisola, Murano Island

The place is situated in the north of the Murano’s island, in sacca Fisola.

This is an area of 31 hectares which currently has not a particular purpose, and it is used as a dump site rich of glass rubbish due to the glass industries. The idea is to develop a park in a context so characteristic strictly linked with the scale of the laguna.

The north of Murano, really far from Venice as a place of mass tourism, has to combined global interests and local needs in a new setting
