Emami Biotech Limited, the Rs 3,500 crore Biotech and edible oil arm of city-based Emami Group, has contemplated a third manufacturing facility in the western part of the country to deepen its footprint in the edible oil market.
To increase direct distribution Emami has added 2,00,000 outlets to its network across the country in 18 months.
The brand has presence in six states, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Bihar and Jharkhand, at present.
It has tied up with local celebrities in West Bengal to promote the mustard oil brand which has more demand in the region, while in Tamil Nadu, it would focus on sunflower oil market, with Superstar Surya as the brand ambassador.
