Upon a branch that overhunga rivers sparkling flow.

A caterpillar inched along ,he seemed to go so slow.He lifted up his hairy neck

to view a wondrous sightA bird that soared upon thebreeze,so carefree in its flightOh how I wish that I could fly

    up there amongst the trees

And like the bird, from placeto placeId glide along with ease.

But alas Im forced to travel

    in my earthbound weightedway,

Amid the jeers and laughterof those who stop to say,Oh look at him, a hairy worm

who crawls upon his tumA creature of the lowest form,Im glad that Im not one

Then suddenly from inside ofhimsome silky threads came outOh my, he sighed, what is

this now, more troubles I must bear?A sticky coat is covering me,I cant get anywhere!

And so beyond his will orwish he spun himself a roomAnd in the darkness,

fastened tight,he slept in his cocoon.

Oh no! --dijo--, qu ocurre

ahora?

The River sighed and thought,Oh worm,

    your hardships a mere trifle

For I know what youll become,

Ive often seen the cycle. But look at me and there youl

seewhat sadness really means,For no children play or splashin me,too shallow are my streams.

Just then from off the rivers

bank, a beaver took a swim. With fresh cut branches in hismouth, depositing them in.

The river scowled,What is this mess?

Youre blocking up my flow!Ill just wash it all away,

I must stay pure, you know.

    But again the beavers brought

more limbsand anchored them in placeBranches upon branchesit was a mighty race.

Palos y ms palos traancon extraordinaria presteza.

The river flowed with all itsforce to wash the sticks awayBut the beavers just would notgive upand soon the branches stayed

And last upon the very top thebeavers put in placeThe branch that held within itslimbs the caterpillars caseThe river grumbled all thewhile,

My flows been interrupted,And Im swelling up so big and

fat I feel like I am glutted!

From high above the sunsmiled downupon the wooden damAnd warmed the sleepingcaterpillar

inside its silken strandsAs days went by at last hewoke and saw a speck of lightAnd struggled through theopening with every bit ofmight.Oh, such pain, for the holewas small, and he barely made it through,But once outside he noticedsomething wonderful and new

For there upon his sides, two wondrous forms unfoldedSomething hed never seen

beforethat in the dark were molded.

What are these, he gasped,as he waved them in thebreezeAnd suddenly took to joyousflight, reaching for the trees. The creatures gazed upon his

wingswhich shone in brilliant color,Im flying he cried out for joy

    and looked about in wonder

And there below, the river, now a brimming, shining poolIn which the children laughedand played saidI have now learned too,

That difficulties and problemsat which we do protestMay be Gods way of bringing

    usa life thats truly blessed.
