section[4] program distribution

The design for the El Bulli Culinary Center in downtown Akron, Ohio places often divergent program elements through site-based, iterative diagramming.

The sequence:A series of photographs taken of the site inform a sectional density study [1]. Through digital modeling, unique sectional conditions of density are identified and documented [2]. These sections are analyzed as a matrix and coded to indicate an occupant’s opportunity for physical and visual interaction [3]. Selected conditions are then reapplied to the site and inform the orientation and distribution of program. [4]
