Perfect Couple by Elin Hildebrand takes us out to Nantucket Island and brings back a host of characters from her previous novels. A “beach read” must for the end of the summer season. Us Against You by Fredrik Backman returns us to Beartown and the story of the hockey team that united the town years before.

The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson is one of the most peculiar and memorable true-crime books ever written about a years-long, worldwide investigation. The setting is the British Museum of Natural History, home to one of the largest collections of rare bird specimens whose gorgeous feathers were worth staggering amounts of money to the men who shared an obsession: the Victorian art of salmon fly-tying. Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts. The author has used her skills to take a normal everyday set-ting and people and involve them in an event that will change the lives of almost everyone in this small community. A shooting at a mall – lasting only eight minutes – but for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. And now, someone believes not enough damage was done. Dear Mrs. Bird by AJ Pearce is set in London during World War II and is the story of an adventurous young woman who becomes a secret advice columnist and responds to those women who she feels truly need advice. It is a funny, and enormously moving story of friendship, the kind-ness of strangers, and ordinary people in extraor-dinary times. ~Pat Harkins
