Day 1 Depart New York Leave New York tonight on the overnight flight to Cairo via London.Day 2 Arrive Cairo Welcome to the Land of the Pharaohs! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Choice of Accommodations

Day 3 Cairo (BL) Begin the day with a visit to the Egyptian Museum for a look at some of Egypt’s history. Then it’s on to the Great Pyramid of Cheops, one of the seven wonders of the world. A visit to the Solar Boat Museum offers a view of this dramatic discovery which took over 10 years to reconstruct. Choice of Accommoda-tions

Day 4 Cairo-Aswan Embark (BLD) Fly to Aswan where you embark on your Nile Cruise. After lunch, sail around Elephan-tine Island. Choice of Accommodations

Day 5 Aswan-Kom Ombo-Edfu (BLD) This morning, visit Aswan’s High Dam, the ancient Granite Quarries, and the Tem-ple of Philae. Later, we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Graeco-Roman style Temple of Sobek, the Crocodile God. Continue sail-ing to Edfu. Choice of Accommodations

Day 6 Edfu-Esna-Luxor (BLD) Today an exhilarating carriage ride takes you through town to the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Return to your ship and sail to Luxor and visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples. Thanks to the contribution of at least 30 pharaohs, Karnak achieved a size and diversity not seen at other temples. Day 4 Cairo-Luxor Embark (BLD) Fly to Luxor and embark on your Nile Cruise vessel. After lunch, visit the Temple of Luxor and the massive temple of Karnak. Choice of Accommodations

Day 5 Luxor-Esna-Edfu (BLD) Begin the day on the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings. So far, 62 tombs have been discovered in the Valley of the Kings - most famous perhaps being that of King Tutankhamun. Sail on past Esna and on to Edfu for the night. Choice of Accommoda-tions

Day 6 Edfu-Kom Ombo-Aswan (BLD)Start today with a visit to the Temple of Horus, second largest of Egypt’s temples (after Karnak) and the Temple of Sobek in Kom Ombo, unique because it is dedicated to two gods: Sobek and Horus. Continue to Aswan for the night. Choice of Accommodations

Day 7 Aswan (BLD) After breakfast, visit the High Dam, the ancient Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae, built over a period of three centuries. Later enjoy a relaxing felucca ride around Kitch-ener’s Island (Botanical Island). Return to the ship for dinner and overnight. Choice of Accommodations

Day 8 Aswan Disembark-Abu Simbel-Cairo (B) Disembark after breakfast and fly to Abu Simbel. Judging from it’s position, the imposing colossi of Ramses II would have greeted travelers and sent a message of Egypt’s strength as they tried to enter Egypt. Return to Cairo this eve-ning, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Choice of Accommodations

Day 9 Cairo (BL) The day’s tour takes you to Memphis and Sakkara where you visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser. Then, a tour of Old and Islamic Cairo rounds out the day. Choice of Accommoda-tions

Day 10 Cairo-New York Bid farewell to Egypt and return to New York today.

Day 2 Arrive Cairo Arrive in London this morning, where you connect to the Cairo-bound flight, arriving in Egypt late this evening. You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Sheraton Dreamland

Day 3 Cairo (BL) Today’s full day tour begins at the Egyptian Museum. The Mu-seum was built in 1902 and contains one of the most impressive and comprehensive collections of artifacts in the world. We continue to Giza to visit the Great Pyramid of Cheop, one of the seven wonders of the world. This is the oldest and largest of the pyramids found in Giza. Sheraton Dreamland

Day 4 Cairo-Luxor (B) This morning, fly south to Luxor where we cross the Nile to explore the New Kingdom city of “Thebes” and the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. Later this afternoon our ex-ploration takes us to the Temple of Luxor, built under Amenophis III and Ramses II, primarily to celebrate the Festival of Opet. Then on to the massive temples of Karnak, built over a period of 1300 years. Winter Pavillion

Day 5 Luxor-Abu Simbel-Cairo (B)A short early morning flight takes you to Abu Simbel to marvel at the temples and colassal statues of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. Nefertari is celebrated in the Temple of Hathor, which Ramses II dedicated to “Nefertari for whose sake the very sun does shine.” Return to Cairo this evening, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 6 Cairo-In Flight (B) The day is at leisure to explore on your own or just relax at the hotel. Late this evening you’ll trans-fer to the airport for the overnight flight to Nairobi.

Day 7 Arrive Nairobi (D) Jambo and wel-come to Kenya! A bit of leisure time gives you a chance for a quick nap and shower before we travel to the suburb of Karen this afternoon. Visit the former home of writer Karen von Blixen (Out of Africa) where you can walk through the original house and stroll the grounds set at the foot of the Ngong Hills. Then, a fun experience awaits at the Giraffe Center where you have an opportunity to feed the Rothschild giraffes. Return to your hotel late this afternoon for an evening at leisure. you past the Rift Valley and into the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Then, it’s time for your first game drive. Thanks to the variety of habitats (from rich riverine forests to expansive plains), the Masai Mara is host to a wide array of herbivores, carnivores and birdlife. Day 9 Masai Mara (BLD) Morning and af-ternoon game drives are always exciting in the Masai Mara, as you never know what you will see! Topi, gazelle and elephant are frequently seen, as are silverbacked jackals, hippo and crocodiles.Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 10 Masai Mara-Lake Nakuru (BLD)Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you’ll travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, past Narok and on to the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru. The waters here are often colored shimmering flamingo pink from

thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park before continuing to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Lake Nakuru Lodge

Day 11 Lake Nakuru-Nairobi-Depart (BD) Bid farewell as your drive takes you out of the Rift Valley and back to Nairobi where rooms are available for you to rest and have a bite to eat before transferring to the airport for the overnight flight to London. Nairobi Safari Park (Day Room)

They were moved up the hillside to keep them from being destroyed by flooding from the Nile when the High Dam was built forming Lake Nasser. Choice of Accommodations

Day 9 Aswan-Kom Ombo-Edfu (BLD) A leisurely sail to Edfu is the perfect time to enjoy a book about the Pharaohs and Ancient Egypt. Choice of Accommodations

Day 11 Luxor Disembark-Cairo (B)Disembark this morning and take the short flight back to Cairo, for an evening at leisure. Choice of Accommodations

Day 12 Cairo (B) Today begins in Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Then it’s on to the Necropolis of Sakkara, City of the Dead, to see the step pyramid of King Djoser and the Wall of Cobras. We also stop at the Carpet School for a demon-stration. Choice of Accommodations

Day 13 Cairo (B) Drive through Old Cai-ro to visit the ancient Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Al Moallaka Church, better known as the “Hanging Church”. Then proceed

to the Citadel of Salah El Din. Legend has it that Salah El Din chose this area because it had the best air. Today it is a remarkable monument to medieval warfare. Choice of Accommodations

Day 14 Alexandria Excursion (BL) Travel to Alexandria today and visit Pompey’s Pillar and the Roman Amphitheater. Re-turn to Cairo early this evening. Choice of Accommodations

Day 14 Amboseli (BLD) Rise early this morning to catch the first views of Mt. Kilimanjaro as its snow-capped summit peaks out from under the clouds. Amboseli boasts five different wildlife habitats and the wide open flat plains make spotting wildlife a little easier. Look for the amus-

Day 7 Thu Alexandria (BL) Our visits in Alexandria include the National

Museum, where more than 1,600 artifacts depicting Alexandria’s rich history are on display. We also stop at Pompey’s Pillar, one of the few monuments of ancient Alexandria left. Choice of Accommodations

Day 8 Fri Alexandria-Cairo-Luxor (BL) This morning, we’ll stop at the beautiful Montazah Palace gardens before returning to Cairo. Continue by air to Luxor. Choice of Accommodations

Inter-Continental Day 17 Mon Petra Excursion (BD) Enjoy the day at Petra, carved out of the craggy rock mountains south of the Dead Sea by the Nabataean traders more than 2000 years ago.
