    Using Self-Acceptance to Allow Yourself to Change

    1- Page Tapping Card"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."-- Carl Rogers

    1. Identify something that is bothering you that you would rather not befeeling/thinking about/doing, e.g.,being depressed, craving sweets,not feeling able to forgive your dad, not exercising,having pain in your back, feeling like a failure, etc.

    2. On a 0 (Low) - 10 (High) scale, rate how muchthe issue is bothering you.

    3. While tapping the karate chop point on onehand, repeat three times: Even though I (insertwhatever is bothering you), I deeply andcompletely love and accept myself.

    4. While repeating a short reminder phrase aboutwhat is bothering you (This sweets craving,I cant forgive,"etc.) use several fingers together

    to tapabout 7 times on each of the followingpoints.

    1) Innermost points of eyebrows2) Side of Eyes3) Bones under the eyes4) Between the nose and mouth5) Chin right under the lips6) Under the collar bone7) Four inches down from your underarm8) Top of the head

    5. Now rate again on a 0 - 10 scale how much theissue is bothering you.

    Repeat the sequence if necessary or focus on more specific things about what isbothering you until your scale rating drops down further and till 0.
