Sarah Guymer 1 Educational Philosophy I believe my role as a teacher is to nurture and guide students’ creativity and learning. A teacher should be a facilitator of information, encouraging students to become inquisitive and confident learners. Every student has their own voice and spirit, so I always aim to make my art room a positive and nurturing environment, where students feel comfortable to express themselves. In doing so, I feel that students will want to achieve to their fullest potential and gain a positive and respectful attitude toward themselves, their education and school community. A teacher should also seek out new ideas, technologies and approaches to education and utilise this in their classroom. Finally, I think it’s important to have a holistic approach to teaching. Not only should students’ skills and intellect be nurtured, but also it is essential that education cultivates a strong sense of faith, tradition, and belonging to a school community that lasts long after Year 12 has been completed. Educational Philosophy

I believe my role as a teacher is to nurture and guide students’ creativity and learning.
