ARCHITECT’S VISION

The site presents an opportunity

to create a unique urban

form that will provide unique

experiences for its occupants and

passing pedestrians.

The architectural design seeks

to reinforce the dynamic and

vibrant aspects of the local

community by delivering a

responsible, sympathetic

residential development.

The key design driver is the

use of the floating white and

charcoal boxes encased within

a grey central building core and

articulated with varying window

forms and screening. In addition

to the floating boxes, the design

also utilises a mix of materials,

such as aluminium screening and

glass balustrades to articulate the

floating boxes.

The design’s other features

include the following:

∕ The orientation of the

building, forms along

view corridors towards the

CBD to the northeast and

the Brisbane River to the

southeast.

∕ Break-up of the building into

various distinct forms.

∕ A layout that maximises

energy efficiency both during

and post construction.

∕ A recreation deck is located

on Level 2 and includes a

swimming pool, sun deck

and enclosed gymnasium.

∕ The built form is intended to

integrate seamlessly with the

adjacent residential building

forms.

In summary, the design seeks

to respect the adjacent built

environment through its scale

and height, but contrasts greatly

in style through its striking bold

shapes and colours, a truly

landmark design in a landmark

location.
