Mbarara University

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) was founded in 1989 when the National Resistance Council passed a Statute establishing the University.

The University started as the second public university in Uganda after Makerere University.

MUST took over and extensively modified the physical facilities of the former School of Midwifery and turned them into structures for the university.

New structures have since been added. The University now has three faculties and two institutes.
