Employment oriented courses

The Education Department has introducedemployment oriented courses like Tourism &Travel, Mass Communication, B.C.A., B.B.A. &

Bio-Technology etc. Education Hub is being proposed to be opened at

Baddi Barotiwala area within the SEZ.

Vocational Education is being imparted through 25Govt. Sr. Sec. Schools in H.P. which leads thestudents towards self-employment.

NORMS FOR ISSUING NOC FOR STARTING B.ED,BPED/ BPE COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS BY PVT.MANAGEMENTS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. POOR RESULT POLICY HAS BEEN FRAMED AND IS

BEING IMPLEMENTED.

ACT. 1997 HAS BEEN PASSED BY THE GOVT. THE HIMACHAL PRADESH PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES

Private Sector participation in Education Sector

The Education Department has started B.Ed., B.P.Ed &

Law courses with the active participation of privatesector.

Universities in the private sector like ICFAI, AMITY,CHITKARA, SHOOLNI institute of Bio-Technology andBio-Informatics etc. have expressed interest inopening their ventures in Himachal and are being

encouraged to do so. Letter of intent have been issuedto three trusts/societies in this regard.

Introduction of UGC sponsored courses

The Education Department has allowed the introduction ofUGC Sponsored Add-on Courses in almost all affiliatedGovt. Colleges in Science and Commerce streams to

enhance employability of Graduates.

This will be a value addition to the existing DegreeCourses.

Monitoring and Inspections

A separate mechanism has been developed for inspecting,monitoring and evaluation of all institutions.

Establishment of Centers of Excellence in all District Head

Quarters is being taken up on priority.
