Course Title : PRIMARY SCHOOL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Course Code : EDU 600
Credit Hours : 3
SLT : 120 Hours
Prerequisite : None
Semester : One Course Description This course will introduce students to the historical and pedagogical factors related to information technology and its use in primary schools in Malaysia. The use of technology in is crucial to enhance teaching and leaninig. Several theories dealing with the using technology is discussed. Students will be able to understand the importance of technology in improving the teaching and learning process. Required Text: Lever-Duffy, Judy. (2011). Teaching and Learning with Technology. Pearson. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Explain the importance of computers in the learning environment.
2. Apply related theories and concepts in integrating technology as an educator.
3. Discuss the different software available for primary learning environment.
4. Discuss issues relating to integrating technology in the learning environment.
5. Produce courseware for use in teaching primary school students.

ASSESSMENT
Grading Policies
The grading scale as explained in the course catalog will be used: 80-100% = A 65-69% = B 50-54% = C 75-79% = A- 60-64% = B- 70-74% = B+ 55-59% = C+
Test 1 & 2 Students will demonstrate their knowledge in the tests. The test will be held during Seminar 2 & 4.

Online Discussion Students are required to actively participate in online discussions throughout the semester through i-Class.

Final Project (Self Instructional Courseware using Powerpoint)
In groups of 5, Students will practically demontrate their knowledge and understanding in the final project writeup and presentation.
