In the year to 30 June 2003, 293 new submissions were received byECONOMICA of which 214 were rejected. During the year, of previousongoing papers, 25 were accepted, and 23 were rejected for possibleresubmission. The remainder are in the process of being reviewed. Thefollowing table summarises the changes from the previous 12-month period:

The average time to rejection is now 3 months. A major factor underlying ourfast turn-round time of papers is the electronic handling of submissions.Currently 95% of new submissions are received in an appropriate electronicformat. To maintain and improve our turn-round standard, from 1 January2004 Economica will only accept electronic submissions. Details of how to dothis are to be found on http://darp.lse.ac.uk/Economica.htm
